Chite brutus, if it weren't for you I'd have to work a lot harder at this. I think you deserve a DGCoursereview shout out. Thanks.

Having no life has its...umm... advantages, lol. I was just wondering when the next big event was, not even thinking there would be on Memo weekend, and there it was. Personally, I wont be able to watch the final or maybe just the end of it. I'm going to Indy500 with my brothers.

I thought this was a good interview with Paul talking about SFO on Disk Golf Pro Tour Talk. The interview starts at 7:30.

^ Yes. Just one course. So why was this tournament allowed to be A tiered in its first year while last year the Jonesboro open was forced to B tier status for this very reason?

Pretty sure this is just a rebranded San Francisco Safari, which has been a long time B-tier event (dating back to the early 90s). Jonesboro, as I recall, had zero history as a PDGA event.

It is really interesting to hear his perspective on things. Like being barely off can be worse than way off... especially on a course like Dela

Just finished the hole preview vid. Couple interesting holes and some blah holes as you would expect form a golf course layout. No10 is 1188ft and Cory was talking about people getting eagles, lol...

San Francisco open and they're not playing golden gate park. Bummer

Golf course instead. Yikes

In the pro Tour Talk video above, Paul talked about Maple Hill DGC lacking a driving range area for practicing drives prior to the round, which is true. Throwing distance drivers into a batter's cage sort of thing is not ideal. But, Maple Hill has a fairly good area across the street at Pyramids DGC for practicing upshots and putts. I have seen pros spending time there throwing discs before their Vibram Open rounds. Because of this, it looks to me like pros often throw relatively conservative drives on Maple Hill hole #1, then rely on a good upshot, and probably a long putt, for a possible birdie.

Not unimaginable. (Assuming it's a Par 5.)

Depending in the wind, a few of the guys can manage back-to-back 600' hucks. Rollers could bring that into the conceivable eagle range for even more players.

Heck, we had an 1188' hole set up here last year, and a ~940 rated player eagled it with two air shots. (Hole played through a field of sage brush so rollers were not an option. Did play downhill for the tee shot, tho.)
1188' was actually the exact distance we had measured, weird coincidence.
