[Recommend] Your favorite 'NEW to you' disc you've tried in the last 6-12 months?

Sabot - This disc is stupid overstable. It's based on (is?) the Innova Max. Life saver on windy days. I use it a lot for get out of trouble shots such as forehand rollers, tomahawks and skip shots. It's a Bradley Williams signature disc. The swirly Frontline (Star) plastic looks sweet.

PD2 - I cycled Destroyers for many years. I now bag six PD2s instead. PD2s are more comfortable in my sidearm grip than Destroyers. Plus I can get beefy PD2s that are flat (like my Luster PD2). Most beefy Destros have dome. In general I prefer flat discs, especially when throwing sidearm. The PD2 also kicked XCals out my bag. That helped me lower the number of molds I carry.

It's not currently in my bag but I have a max weight S-Blend Pharaoh. It's a stock stamp not a GG signature. It's one of the farthest flying discs I've ever thrown.

C-FD. Just an awesome disc. Put it out with slight hyzer and it's going straight a LONG way. Has really improved my straight shots out to 350' or so.

Not new to others, but new to me: Valkyrie & Harp

I found a 5x Champ Valk at a garage sale. It provided a nice step up in stability from my Sidewinder while still being very workable. It made a huge difference in my bag all year. I've thrown other Valkyries, but this is one is special, the stability is just right. It would be very difficult to replace.

I added a BT Hard Harp after playing a Chasin' Chains event. I look at it as a FH compliment to the Wizard or a Firebird that can be used in the short game. I love the base plastic.

Best by a long shot: Z Comet. Have used X and ESP ones for a couple of years but the Z's are much better overall. More stable than X and more consistent than ESP but still have tons of glide with a straight and controllable flight. My Comet usage has gone wayyy up since adding it to the bag.

Tied: Star Shryke & ESP Force. Was struggling with distance drivers so tried these out on a whim. Shrykes fly like sweet spot somewhat flippy Wraiths but further. Forces are a great OS distance driver. I like the lighter ESP's that aren't super beefy, they turn just a bit when ripped to push the distance but are still plenty OS for headwinds.

Awesome stories so far - I see a lot of Vulture comments - I will likely try one of those sometime soonish -

Hmmmm... I won one as a CTP prize a few weeks ago, I felt it and thought "i'm done trying to look for non-Teebird Teebirds so put it on the shelf. Not sure I throw it but sounds like there could be a market for it.

I was looking and I don't think i've fallen in love with anything new the last year. Added some old back in, maybe some different plastics?? Crazy to think most of my staples in my bag are over a year old now and what i've picked up new I had already thrown I was just waiting for the plastic and color and weight I wanted.

Jury is still out on Pine vs Verdict... or just a Fresh Compass...
Thoughts on something between Teebird/Eagle/FD and Trespass/Destroyer but doesn't seem needed.

DGA Blowfly I. Flips up on a slow rope.

It single handedly gave me the win last weekend at the Chavez Ridge Fling XXII. If you don't know the course, getting DeLa'd aint no thing. Granted it's super short, but getting Chavez'd a few times a round is almost a given. The course is on either side of a steep ridge above Dodger Stadium and Downtown LA.

Tree kicks usually sail down the hill side, and skittering layups or cage hits are a coin flip on whether they're going to end up in a roll away. When the Blowfly hits a tree it calmly folds up on impact and nestles somewhere by the base, and for my layups the thing sticks under the basket like a cowpie.

If anyone has some of the swirly purple/blue run, I'd be happy to take them off your hands.

I have been enjoying the H2V2 since we got them. It's not as overstable as I expected it to be (which is a good thing for me ymmv)- might make the bag in the sort of "utility" (forehand, overhand, occasional backhand) slot currently occupied by my older H3's- has about the same stability but a touch more speed.

Hard Harp- Yeah I'm an older player and I should be throwing less stable stuff but this thing is a game changer for me. The only issue I have with it is that I'm throwing it on shots that I clearly shouldn't even be thinking about using it for.

EXP-X- it's been a great, flat Champ Banshee replacement for utility stuff.
N Catalyst - Great bomber.
Opto Ballista Pro - The stable complement to the Ballista I wanted.
N Envy - Throws well BH or FH
Z Heat - really neutral line shaper for a driver

My newest discs are a Teleport and Deflector but I haven't thrown them enough to say much.

I purchased a Streamline Trace in Plasma plastic. I was driven to do it after consistently losing to a better player who was using one for his forehand. I have found it to be a very reliable stable/os driver, not the longest disc in my bag as I can't get it to flip up and turn, but reliable in all conditions other than those winds that will blow the cap off of your head.

Can't believe it, but I picked up a super sweet dye max Harp with a tourney stamp. GI Joe was my favorite cartoon as a kid and this Harp is a dye max of Joe and Cobra Commander. It is exactly what I was looking for in this spot. Just perfect for me. I also have upped my Rival collection recently. I can't say enough about pinnacle Rivals. Such a workhorse driver for me. The real surprise came from the Legacy Patriot. I had tried this disc in the past, but didn't care for it. Recently put that exact one back in the bag and boom instant Cheetah replacement.

Impulse - only disc I can throw 4 feet off the ground and still get distance with, distance being a relative term.

Xpress - just holds its line.

Fission Photon never would have bought one took it in trade cause I wanted a Signal and he wanted two Comets. 143g and goes like a rocket, solid fade, really cool addition to my bag solid stability workable at max distance and midranges.

The clutch !!!! Just started throwing the legacy clutch .... can't say enough good things , great off the pad , great approach , and amazing putting
FYI if you like gripppy plastic throw gravity plastic

Does the Fission Photon seem any less stable than its normal weight counterparts? I'm constantly looking for a disc that fits between a Wave and Photon.

mint alpha or alpha mint im not sure lmao but i love it. little faster than fairway speeds, but flies like an FD. Second favorite is jokeri thanks to the boy wonder kevin jones

ive had the same molds for the past handful of years

if it aint broke dont fix it

You know, my game wasn't broke, but I am an advocate of continuous improvement. So, I wanted to see if I could improve with new tools.

Over the last 12-18 months, I tried a handful of new molds, different weights, and plastics.

The vulture was my favorite driver, but I thought it was a lot like an Orc. I've thrown Orcs for years, and have a good number of that mold in different stages of wear. So, while I loved the way the Vulture flies, it didn't make sense for me to go through the 'beat in' process all over again. Vultures out, Orcs back in.

I've been throwing TeeBirds for years, as such, most of the ones I have are 11x era and difficult to replace. So, I started looking for a 'beat in TeeBird flight' out of the box. I tried Escapes, Heat, & Undertakers. All good discs, but not what I was looking for. Escape, Heat, Undy's out, TeeBirds in.

I've putted with Wizards & Challengers for years. I like the consistency of the Challenger more, but the Gateway plastic is better. I tried Judges in the last year. They were ok, but not as good (for me) as the Challenger or Wizard. Then I discovered RB Challengers - GAME OVER.

Throwing far is cool, but you'll save more strokes around the green than off the tee. I also tried a handful of new mids, but I think I prefer to throw utters instead...

Second favorite is jokeri
As a putter thrower, I want to learn more about the Jokeri...
