PDGA World Championships 2022

I like Hennas form. . she holds her throwing arm very straight in the reach back. . and then a fast bend. . a "Oakley light"

I don't disagree with any of that. Yes if Henna & Evaliina make more 20-25' putts yes, there'd be more of a race. What I am saying is that a) the expectation is what's unrealistic and b) Kristin had some putting struggles in Round 3 also.

Yes, to win Worlds you NEED to play over your rating -- see Barsby, P.Shue (Bjerkaas), Doss the first time, etc. And yes, they are two of the five highest rated players in the world. But Henna is a 22-yr-old and Evaliina turning 23 today who just don't have the experience in these big moments with the press conferences, the crowd, the cameras, etc., like 30-yr-old Kristin has recently. Evaliina won the Memorial in 2019 when she was 19 and outside that the only time they faced what they are facing this week was at the European Open, which isn't even held every year. To expect them to be devoid of enough nerves and to shake off the "bigness" of the situation is a bit much to expect from such youngsters. This event, though, should help them understand.

And also Kristin had putting struggles on Thursday, but found a way to still shoot -4, 970-rated to keep herself in the hunt. She then was found out on the course working late that evening until it was time for dinner with the McBeths.

All I'm saying is that the criticism of their putting is, while accurate, a bit too harsh for the situation when combined with everything else they are doing.

The big problem is that Eveliina and Henna misses REALLY short putts , like 10-15ft ones. . if they miss a few +20ft thats ok. . . but to miss the basket from 10`you just cant do.

But they ARE young and have most of the game down. . they have YEARS to get the putt down. .and i think they can. . Cat was horrible just a few years back, now shes in the top of putting stats.
Putting IS "easy" to get better on. .and easy to practice. .
Henna and Evelinina WILL be a force in the FPO for a long time

I kind of thought Kristin would play safe today. . .but she have seven stragiht birdys on the F9!!

and its over, , two missed 10ft putts from Henna. . its hard to understand those misses

But I don't think she's, "pushing." Seems more like she's just executing her game plan and doing what got her here. Doesn't even look like she's using all her distance (perhaps less than 100% due to semi-nagging injury?)

Henna's finesse annie/turnover lines with that yellowish-green disc are sweet. They're a joy to watch. And she makes distance look easy. And then a 3 putt. :(

But to aray's point: both Henna and Evaliina are quite young. I really hope the can lock down their close range putts. When that happens, look out.

She hung in for eight holes with Tartar setting a blistering pace, then the wheels came off.

I'm wondering how hot a round Tattar would have put up if Blomroos had kept going birdie-birdie with her; a 10 stroke lead with eight to play will probably see her back off the gas and settle for pars.

If Eveliina could putt even halfway decent she would have won worlds by a landslide, she's by far the best FPO player off the tee and has both forehand and back. That's gotta be frustrating.

Dang dude? What did she do to you? Leave ya hanging or something?

She dumped me after coming into a large sum of money recently. Said some bull**** about how my C1x percentage was too high and I underestimated her social media presence...

One thing no one can really refute:

Kristin's clearly been the best FPO player this year, with several wins on two continents, and podiums finishes when she doesn't win.

No one can say they're surprised she did this.
She's earned every bit of it.

She´s just SOO consistent, i dont know if we ever had a podium streak this long.
She just have a complete game, most top FPO players lacks a skill like FH or putting but Kristin has it all

Best And it's really not close.

Yes, if Evalina fixed her putting it would be interesting, but that's not where they are today.

A lot of it is mental. Hopefully with experience she will get a handle on it.

Congrats to Europe's 1st PDGA World Champion!

Edit: He's wrong, she's the 2nd. I'm a jerk so I'll edit this post. To be clear, he was WRONG!

We return you to BGN's regularly scheduled post:

In Henna's defense:
If not for Kristin dusting the field, we're probably calling her World Champ.

Still a strong worlds for Henna after a not-so-good-year for her . . i dont think she have beaten Eveliina much this year

Not much question about where KT won this event.

Thats really impressive...if they clean up half of those strokes, we have a 3way playoff for first coming down the stretch.

Its pretty embarrassing the amount of close putts missed by the top FPO
