Ledgestone Open 2023

Much kudos to Biff from Back to the Future finishing a solid 4th. Did I say Biff?- er, I mean Ezra Robinson. Good to see him on lead card coverage for two rounds. Those Robinson bros. are gooooooood.

Koling nailed it on commentary: Redalen has amazing form, driving, approach, putting, follow through, etc.

Hard to recall someone winning a tournament and making it look so easy, except Tattar.

Philo said Calvin's weak spot was putting. I LOL'd. IMO, there are two people putting consistently above the crowd—Gavin and Calvin. They make it look automatic.

Beyond that, there are clutch putters like
Wysocki and Paul, and plenty of great putters in the upper leagues.

Cole played at a buttery high level throughout. I'm surprised his 4th round didn't top 1100, but that falls under the +/- error bubble IMO.

We've seen several players reach the upper levels only to slide back down the mountain to the second tier. Cole really seems to have the "it" factor to be a top tier player.

So two DGA players in the top 5 but no Discraft.
It was kind of a good tournament for Discraft but if seems hard to get a Team Discraft player to win Ledgestone in MPO
I think Paige and Paul won in 2019 but was Paige with Discraft in 2019?. .maybe, i have short memory

@txmxer
Just go and check the European Open final round and you'll see what he meant. Calvin seems to be a bit streaky when it comes to his putting. When it's on it's on and he indeed is one of the best putters on tour, but unfortunately that isn't always the case.

In terms of driving or approaches, he doesn't really have similar fluctuation.

Calvin is my favorite pro so I'm not bashing him, just confirming what Philo is saying.

EDIT: How do you use the quote function ffs. :giggle:

Apologies if this was already covered, but what happened to Corey Ellis? I saw that he got a DNF.

Gannon? Haven't seen a Gavin in contention for a while...

I narrowed down to just DGPT UDisc stats to filter out the ET/EPT/PDPT ranked players a bit. #1 for putting C1x % on tour is Marwede but his C1/C2 % in regulation are ranked >100. Heimburg is in the middle for putting ranks but it largely doesn't matter with his strength in getting to the greens. He has many more opportunities for shorter putts when a lot of players are putting from further out. If Heimburg is able to putt 90%+ in C1x he is usually winning.

Yes, meant Gannon. thanks for the correction.

Saw McBeast on the bag for Alexis Mandujano.

I'm not sure I'd want Paul on my bag after his worst caddying ever with Barela at EO.

So two DGA players in the top 5 but no Discraft.

Paige signed with Discraft in November 2019.
