...recently got my first ace with a Discraft Nuke, 2nd day throwing it. Should I keep it? It feels kinda special but I really love the Nuke and wanna keep throwin it. I've almost lost it a couple times since then, only found it cuz of my eagle eyed friend. What do you guys think? Do you have your first ace disc?

If you want to keep throwing it, keep throwing it. If you'd rather look at it on your wall, hang it up. It sounds like you want to keep throwing it, so do whatever the devil on your shoulder tells you to do.

I lost my first ace disc five holes after my first ace. Keep throwing it. It's just a piece of plastic.

I don't know, I think hanging on to it might be cool. I haven't thrown an ACE yet, I will, I hope to soon. I've gotten a couple in from pretty far out there, hit metal on some drives, meant to and all but if one goes in?

Yeah.

Is it special?

Hail yeah.

Keep that piece of plastic with the date of the Ace and hang the pecker on the wall. It's just a piece of cool plastic indeed. But me? When I get my first ACE, I'll be stoked and the chingy dingy is going to stay in the bag, I'm going to punish it as long as I can hang onto it, it's just plastic.

Did I say that?

You just have to decide for yourself whether or not you would be ok with losing it. If so, keep throwing it, it's just plastic. If not, hang it on the wall, it's a keepsake now. There's no wrong answer here.

This^^

I have both of my ace discs, but I still throw one of them. It is an aviar and I still use it even after my dog got a hold of it and chewed on it earlier this year. My other ace disc got replaced by the players pack disc of the tournament I was in, so I retired it after that round.

i retired mine. it got me my first ace and it was also my first "real" disc apart from the innova wolf. i bought the wolf because it had a sweet wolf picture on it and i didn't know it was a virtually ridiculous rollin fool. it all depends on how senitimental you are. i say get a new nuke and make sure it plays right, which based on discrafts claim it should as you can just pull out another one and keep truckin, then retire your disc. you can always throw it later if you decide you don't care anymore. once it goes in the lake, it is gone. you never know when will be the last time you touch your disc...

I throw mine, but since its a specialty mid (gator) I don't see any reason not to because it only comes out in certain situations.

My first ace was with an Impact (it was in my first tournament and I won a $180 ace pot), then lost it when it a few months later along with a couple of other discs under mysterious circumstances.

Bought another Impact, got my second ace with it, and lost it in during a tournament a couple of weeks later when some knucklehead in my group tried to retrieve it from the edge of a creek and pushed it underwater into the current instead.

I now have another Impact, and I'm just waiting to get an ace with it to see how I can manage to lose it.

Ironically, I rarely lose discs, and these are the only two mids I've ever lost.

If I didn't throw ace discs then half of my aces probably would not have happened. Not with those same discs that worked so well at least.

Personally, I've retired all my ace discs as soon as I replace them. That meant that my nicely broken roc stayed in my bag for a few weeks until I had the next one in line broken in how I liked it, and now it's safe at home where I won't lose it.

I have 2 discs with two aces on them; an E Star Wraith and a regular Star Wraith. The E Star found the wall because it was getting a little damaged and I have another that is almost exactly the same weight and wear. Yet it is not officially retired by any means, just currently I am not throwing Wraiths. The regular Star is still in great condition and if I was not getting better results from my Valkyrie/ Firebird combination, it would probably still be in the bag.

I currently have only one ace disc in my bag, a Star TeeBird. That one is too valuable and perfectly broken in to take out. Hell, if it has one ace on it already, it is just a matter of time before it gets another. That is pretty much my philosophy, I bought them to fly, not to collect. I only have one disc I have permanently retired, an X XS, my first ever "great disc." I have two more on semi-retirement, a Dragon and a Raven, both because of sentimental reasons (my daughter had written on them when she first learned how to write).

Personally, I would keep on huckin'. If you lose it, sure it may be a lil more emotional than losing any other disc...but seriously...wouldn't you rather hit two or three more with it and say..."this is my ACE disc instead of I hit an Ace with this disc one time"?

Granted this is assuming you will score more aces in the future. You've been playing less than a year...of course you'll score more. I on the other hand don't stand a chance. :wall:
