Good DG Shoes

I just got a pair of keen mid highs and so far so good. First time in awhile i've dropped some pennies on good shoes. I used to wear vans and like mentioned above you feel every rock you step on. Now with the keens my feet don't hurt at all after a couple rounds. The keen dry works well also.

REI has a no questions asked return policy. I am on my4th shoe umber that policy. I also have a pair of Vasques that are holding up well. Sole construction is everything.

i've got a pair of patagonia "boaris'" they are great. i've played in them all summer and the vibram soles are holding up great. they even look cool (most hiking shoes look goofy, imho). i wear them for everything: disc golf, walking to work, around town, everywhere, and they are still holding strong. downside: they are pretty damn expensive ($100) but if they last me a year it's worth it and they're really close to a year old.

I used my casual shoes for a round recently and that was a mistake. I went on a trip and only brought one pair of shoes and thought they would be OK to play in. I wear some Teva brand hikers as my casual shoes. I got them for $30 on a clearance rack and thought they looked rugged. I was wrong. The soles were splitting everywhere (on both shoes) after only 8 holes. I had to shoe goo the heck out of them when I got home.

I am currently wearing through some Adidas Kanadia Trail shoes that I also got on a clearance rack for $14. So far they are holding up better than any of the other pairs I have played in.

I like the Zappos idea for lifetime shoes!
I wear the same, and I love them. The traction on the bottoms is unbeatable.

Vibram soles suck on the teepads...If I'm playing 5-6 times a week they are half bald after 2 months and totally bald after 4...The more aggressive the tread, the quicker it rips off. I've had chunks actually rip off the first round I played in both Merrels and the North Face trail shoes I'm currently wearing. My right forefoot where I pivot goes first, but by the end of the 4 months both shoes are flat on the bottom.

Since Vibram is making discs now, they should make a rubber blend/tread pattern for DG shoes that is designed to take a beating.

I've yet to find a pair of shoes that make it through the 6 months of tourney play in the summer. My Keens worked well until the water lining tore. My Merrills had been holding up well, but have really started to fall apart over the last month (I've had them for 7 months now). The water lining is still holding up, but I'm pretty sure it'll be torn within a couple weeks. I'm still searching for the shoes with the golden sole that will withstand the concrete teepads.

i doubt you'll ever find that.. 7 months isn't that bad for pretty rough usage (for your first signs of break down, you still have awhile in them if that's the case!)

EDIT: i'm a double eagle member now. **** yeah

I get whatever waterproof trail runners fit the best. Right now I have a pair of New Balance that are a few years old (I only play 1-2 rounds per week when it's nice out). They aren't as waterproof as the Merrils I had before that, but they also don't give me blisters.

I wore the Northface Goretex trail runners last week in the dew and my feet stayed dry. I'm glad i picked them up. The only issue I had was that one side of the shoe felt a little high and hit my ankle bone when walking on a hillside. I'll have to get used to it. Plus they are a little heavier than the Nike Zoom Red Rocks that are still the best golf shoe I think i've ever had.

I think REI is all over the place in Oregon. If you have one within a reasonable driving distance, go there and get the lifetime membership for $20.

This gets you a no-hassle return policy and you can walk out of the store with a new pair of shoes if anything goes wrong or if you just don't like the shoes after a month or 2.

This year, I have been using the vasque mantra goretex. They have held up better than any merrells or anything else I have used in past years.

I also use the nikwax waterproofing stuff to ensure my feet stay dry. They have held up all year and I will continue to use them until I switch over to hiking boots for disc golf in the snow.

I replaced a pair of Merrells (goretex but also POS) with Garmonts this year. The toe rand of the Merrells actually shrunk over 2 months of owning them I I started getting really bad blisters. Took them back to MEC (Canadian REI) and they replaced them at full value for any shoe I wanted....so I payed $22 and got the Garmonts....a touch heavy but very solid platform, plus Goretex so feel always warm and toasty

I agree. I bought a pair of these, and so far they're holding up great, although on most of our local courses the teeboxes are dirt or clay. The very soft rubber spikes work great on them though.

Other people hailed these a couple pages back, so... thirded!
I had stopped by GGGT and had to see why they had a bunch of "Bite" shoes on clearance. They're a mix of Croc linings, Vibram soles, and probably a few other things - anyway the line was discontinued and GGGT got a ton for cheap.
They're my goto grippy discing/hiking shoes now, are very waterresistant, and the vibrams have a great life.

Snatched up a pair of Merrell Ventilators from Nordstrom Rack in Chicago for 40 bucks over the weekend. They feel a bit wide on my narrow feet but they are super duper comfy and I'm really happy with them so far.

Black Friday I'm venturing out into the madness to find a deal on some Gore-Tex shoes for the rain and snow, any suggestions?
