150 bag for an old fart

Hey you and your G star.. I bought a 166.. I think it's your fault.

Heh. I'll own that.

PS: I think my bagging the insanity is your fault too

Happy to take credit for that, too. :D

Wait, I have 2 Insanity's and 3 Roadrunners in my bag right now. Not a single one was in there last October BEFORE I visited Maryland. You may be onto something :D

Gotta be the crabs. :p

Well he definitely was one of the guys pushing plasma waves too now that I think of it... I got a blue one off him that's unreal!!! Is this some kind of cult?!? Have I been brainwashed? It still seems like it's dirty though... :D hmmm.

That's on you, dude. Haven't had a Plasma Wave in my bag for a while.

But now that you mention it . . . ;)

This Monocacy guy is bad news it seems.

:\

Unless you really love flippy, lightweight drivers. Then he's good news I guess.

So we're just a couple stalkers really. It's starting to add up.

Stalkers? Those are just shorter Teebirds, right?

But if I ever bag any version of a Wombat....put me out of my misery :p

Wombat3 will change your life, maaaaaan. :D

Been testing a 169 Neutron Reactor in the stable midrange slot, in place of the EMac Truth. Pretty sure the Reactor is going to make the bag. Did you ever have a disc that flies exactly how you expect it to? For me, that's the Reactor. Almost-stable, highly predictable, quite versatile, flat top feels good for sidearm.

Even when I throw it poorly it seems to wind up near the basket. My kinda disc. :D

I think my college roommate was a wombat, then.....

It's one thing to get to know your roommate well, maybe even become lifelong friends.

But knowing about their poop?

Surely, the two of you crossed a line somewhere along the way. :|

Neutron Hex order placed, a stack of bright pinks in the upper 160s. Looking forward to throwing the Hex, sounds like it might be a nice, neutral-stable midrange. I like neutral-stable discs.

I lost a fair number of discs towards the end of my 2-week roadtrip through the Midwest. Back-ups are getting low but nothing else in my bag seems to be in stock. Guess I'll have to keep it on the fairway. I hear that might be a good strategy anyway.

Hey right on! Ive been digging the Hex, been a great FH disc for me... decent BH. I lost it again last night on a FH went low and blind, I didn't hear any trees or bushes, kept looking in front of the pin 20-30'... gave up it was getting dark, spotted it 35' past the pin. :D

I'll be interested to hear what you think of it. It has an amazing ability to resist turn on the flat and just flies straight. Plays like a beefy envy up short, runs like a stable relay out in the open. I'm scared to play it directly against a Relay on the short straight fairway shots, I have a feeling the Hex will out distance it.

Longer Envy would be just fine with me! I hope my Hex experience matches yours, although I throw way more BH than FH. What is it about BH throws with the Hex that you don't like?

Hexes will probably not be delivered for a week or more, but I will definitely post about how they fly when I get some tosses in.

I wouldn't say that I don't like it it's just that I'm primarily backhand and the way it crept into my bag was more for the forehand shots. Kind of my FH comet, it's like I can't miss. With the Envy primarily as my backhand Driver there's a bit of overlap. I've been getting a really nice low fade shot using a soft electron Envy.

If I'm looking for more of a touch BH shot I will look towards the ohm or the comet. I guess it's the stability, Hex is a stable Comet complement. Hex is great straight to fade, heck it's great straight! I guess I just have a little bit too much trouble getting enough spin on it and get it to make an Anhyzer turn. The other part is how heavily wooded it is and mostly just a range thing where I don't have enough space to really play with it and figure out how to get it to turn

Stable Comet complement would be perfect (except the Wombat3 is my "Comet" :p ). If Hex is a midrange version of my seasoned 157 *TL (which replaced a seasoned 150s DX Teebird), I would be a happy camper.

Thanks! :)

If you want something light that goes forever, I have a 125 DX Valkyrie. It just kinda goes right and doesn't come back much/at all. It's a fun disc to throw. :)

Currently as low as 140 in Star on Infinite. I can't remember if I had ordered it online or found it in a store.

125 DX Valk does sound fun. Valks were my main distance drivers for many years (one Star, one JK).

But I think 125 grams might be a little light even for me. ;)

...and don't underestimate the utility and glide of the 150g Wombats. [emoji106][emoji41] Most dependable, straight as a string uphill tunnel shot disc.

Interesting. I think the lightest Wombat3 I have tossed is mid-160s. I shall keep an eye out for light ones if Wombats are ever back in stock . . .

DX. And try the 150s as very straight rollers.

Still throwing everything in the bag BH and FH. Couple of changes:

Carrying a brace of Hexes for testing, so the Wombat3 lives in the trunk for now. Testing the Hex to find its limits and see what (if anything) to pair with it. So far, I love it.

Lost my last G* RR so I have been carrying a *RR, and kind of digging it.

Distance:
155 Neutron Wave: main distance driver, very straight in the woods, flicks nicely
157 GL Sapphire: has the reliable fade that the Wave lacks

Fairway:
158 Star TL: stable and workable
157 Plasma Insanity: understable to S-curve, main woods driver. Breaking in a new one.
162 Star Roadrunner: understable, starting to season

Midrange:
168 Neutron Hex x 2: neutral, workable, gets out there with my drivers.

Putters:
171 XT Stud x 2: putting, straight approach. One fresh, one seasoned
171 Medium Harp: overstable approach, headwind putts

I was wondering what the word would be on the Hex.. I kind of feel mildly responsible for leading that bandwagon charge!

Wombat3 is back in the bag, paired with the Neutron Hex. Reactor is in the trunk if needed when the leaves fall and winter winds kick up. Loving the Hex but I definitely missed the Wombat3 for its midrange-length putter lines.

Plasma Insanity is out of the bag for now because the few I have left are the color of lost. Between the *TL and *RR I have not missed the Insanity very often.

My approach Stud has seasoned to where it is now my putting Stud, and vice-versa. :D

Distance:
155 Neutron Wave x 2: main distance driver, very straight in the woods, flicks nicely. One fresh and nearly stable, and the other freakishly understabe and very long (for me) if I hit it just right.
157 GL Sapphire: has the reliable fade that the Wave lacks.

Fairway:
158 Star TL: stable and workable
162 Star Roadrunner: understable, starting to season

Midrange:
168 Neutron Hex: stable, workable, gets out there with my drivers.
167 Star Wombat3: back in the bag, super-useful for minimal fade in the woods.

Putters:
171 XT Stud x 2: putting, straight approach. One fresh, one seasoned
171 Medium Harp: seasoned, mildly overstable approach, headwind putts

Been reading through. My form has been wonky so I decided to transition to standstill season early this year.

Wondering about getting some 150 class drivers.
