I only look at Scheels' discs if I'm already there for something else. They always ask wayyyy too much for plastic but they will price match. I found a 164g GL river last year that they wanted $23 for but I picked up for less than $15.

I hate to break it to you, but discs don't really become obsolete.

I picked up a yellow KC aviar with a purple stamp (LSU colors? yes please!) to see how it would wear compared to my yellow 4x yetis. It's quite a bit firmer with less grip but it's slowly coming along; I doubt it'll ever get to be as grippy as my yetis though. I'm curious about the yeti though...

Have you tried using the mesh side pockets? I have the straight jacket straps and they have pockets on them; one side for pencils, the other for scorecard/phone.

The G* teebird I picked up the other day has a very very mild dome. The G* leopard was board flat. Flat flat flat. I hadn't even planned on picking it up, but I prefer flat leo's and couldn't pass on this one.
