Been throwing g* in 20-30 degree weather this week. As I expected, it firms up in the hand just a little bit in the cold. I already had a strong preference for it (compared to champ/star-type plastics) during wet rounds, so I expect it to get a lot of action this winter.
As to the flight, my g*...
I only look at Scheels' discs if I'm already there for something else. They always ask wayyyy too much for plastic but they will price match. I found a 164g GL river last year that they wanted $23 for but I picked up for less than $15.
I picked up a yellow KC aviar with a purple stamp (LSU colors? yes please!) to see how it would wear compared to my yellow 4x yetis. It's quite a bit firmer with less grip but it's slowly coming along; I doubt it'll ever get to be as grippy as my yetis though.
I'm curious about the yeti though...
That's how I pack for a round. Besides discs, what's in my bag is as follows:
Water
Towels- two large, two small microfiber.
knife
superglue
visine
tums
ibuprofen
athletic tape
pencils
small sharpie
rulebook
coozie
carabiner
safety pin
paracord bracelet (around one of the bag straps)
sunglasses...
Have you tried using the mesh side pockets?
I have the straight jacket straps and they have pockets on them; one side for pencils, the other for scorecard/phone.
First off, welcome! Many of us have had the same problem as you. It's common with beginners. Don't get too discouraged. Have fun.
Hempies got the idea right, but had a few terms mixed up. Here is what it should read:
Also the term 'turn and burn' typically refers to a throw that turns over...
The G* teebird I picked up the other day has a very very mild dome. The G* leopard was board flat. Flat flat flat. I hadn't even planned on picking it up, but I prefer flat leo's and couldn't pass on this one.
My first thought was a Thunderbird logo on a Thunderbird (teebird) but then I re-read it... and now I don't know.
But if I remember correctly, hurricane7 is a motor sports enthusiast, and I believe BennettUA is as well. They both do excellent work.
Have you seen the Chapparal dye hurricane7...
