You are never really playing an opponent. You are playing yourself, your own highest standards, and when you reach your limits, that is real joy.

~DG Philosophy ~
* First and foremost, disc golf is meant to be fun. Although I am competitive by nature, to me it is about getting out into nature and enjoying the great outdoors!
* I started playing this wonderful sport in May of 2000 at the famous De La Veaga in Santa Cruz, CA. Since then, I have accumulated over 250 courses in 13 states, 3 countries and counting...
* My favorite type of courses are those that grow with age. Being able to shoot "lights out" every time on the course, to me, lacks creativity and challenge and therefore loses its luster quickly. Courses that continue to challenge me, revealing new routes and approaches over time, make me want to come back and play time and time again.
* Considering I like to travel, navigation plays a factor in my ratings. If I am spending as much time looking for the next hole as playing it, then there is a major flaw with the course design/layout. I don't expect a course to hold me by the hand, but do expect the course to flow in proper harmony whether it be by the use of signs, next tee markers, tape on the basket, etc.
~ DGCR Criteria ~
* Course Design: Balance (lefty vs. righty) with preferably multiple routes to the basket, nice flow, easy navigation, mix in hole length and par, utilization of geography, open vs. wooded holes, signature hole(s).
* Aesthetic Beauty: Cleanliness and course maintenance, mountains, water (rivers, lakes, ponds, ocean), foliage, wildlife.
* Challenge: Appropriate for tended audience (ie. red, blue, gold level player). Rewarding skill over luck.
* Amenities: Pro shop, bathrooms, water fountains, camping, snack shacks, benches, multi-use park.
* Bonuses: Multiple tee pads and/or baskets, quality tee signs and tee pads, multiple courses on site, kiosk w/ information regarding course layout, club events and local vendors.

Don't use my real name on here. I don't want people to start stalking me because I'm Pro...you know what I mean. It's tough being me. Nice job by the way. I'm glad I didn't make it down to that tourney because you would have finished 3rd.
like wise my friend.. it was nice to finnaly put the face to the name... yeah id like to go ply up there sometime... the only one ive played up there is jeul park? thanx for all your help
Pretty unbelievable isn't it - last year someone had to have the first superclass tourney the weekend before mine and now the first EVER 150 class event after 20 some years, less than a month before mine.
Yeah, Ryan Ranch is a cool course and it would definitely suit your game well (if you couldn't tell from the review ). I actually don't have any plans for this weekend except for scouting a few potential pin placements out @ the Tac so if you have any time, I'd love to get in a round or two.
