Ever walked off the course before?

When I'm playing by myself, all the time. When I'm competing against someone else, never. You can't quit in the middle of a competition, it's not fair to your competitors.

    DGPT: Nick Hyde

This Nick Hyde seemed like a sweet kid. Anyone know what he passed away from? Was it Cancer?

The 2017 Memorial Presented by Discraft

Bummer. "The real gender-equality struggles in the US in 2017?" Go on... Tell us more... Lol, c'mon man. You don't see the irony here? You seriously don't understand why the FPO players you've slagged for voicing ideas you disagree with haven't reached out to you? Really? Why...

    Tournament/PDGA/Noob Advice

Depends on how serious you want to get. You can play unsanctioned tournaments, which is the rubric most local leagues/weeklies/monthlies fall under. Unsanctioned events tend to be cheaper, more casual with the rules and generally less serious. Some folks prefer that kind of competition. Or, if...

$200 bucks to build disc collection - looking for advice

Get a Firebird, Teebird and a Roc. Oh, and a Polecat.

    Playing better after time off?

Played 10-20 PDGA events a year for about 4 years. Stopped in 2015. Got my rating up to 880 by that point. Played my first PDGA event in 18 months a few weeks ago, in the snow, cold af, after almost zero practice. For my first round, I posted a 914-rated round. True, that's only a handful of...

    How to defeat Ricky Wysocki

Yeah, all this "Rick's game is suited for the ball golf course, he's not as good in the woods" talk is straight BS. The facts bear this out. He's won everywhere. Right now, I wouldn't bet against Rick in any tournament, on any course. He has absolutely no weaknesses in his game, except maybe...

The Real Face of Disc Golf

You'll never be able to underestimate the quality of graphic design that goes into 99% of the signage around any of the disc golf courses I've seen, if there's even ANY signage to begin with. And you forget about any kind of helpful wayfaring. It's really follow-your-nose stuff out there.

Lol! IOW, "the grievance you've experienced is not, in fact, a grievance and cannot be described as 'ageism' or 'discrimination.' And by claiming that it is, you have disqualified yourself from any further participation in this conversation, a conversation which you began."

    Older Players

If you're experiencing ageism or discrimination at a particular tournament, you might not get an immediate ad hoc resolution for that particular tournament by contacting the PDGA, but by communicating your experiences to the sanctioning body regarding this issue may result in future policy...

Next time I see another hand-wringing, pearl-clutching thread stating something like, "I don't understand why everyone doesn't love disc golf as much as I do," I'm gonna post a link to this thread.

    Disc Golf Drivers License

Lol people who actually think you're proposing a licensing protocol for BUYING FLYING DISCS and not recognizing your post as a hilarious irony.

Just out of curiosity, do you happen to be a TD?

    Older Players

Sorry for not qualifying my statement "... any division I choose" with a "... that I qualify to play in." I guess I just assumed no one would infer that I meant that a 1050-rated pro should be allowed to register for MA3 if they chose to. That would be absurd.

    Older Players

Of course no one is forced to do anything in life. Sorry for implying otherwise. However, in many PDGA events, TD's force certain players into certain divisions they would prefer not to be in, if those certain players wish to participate. So is being a TD.

Congrats. Unless, of course, you expect to compete in the senior grandmaster division. In that case, then, bummer. The $5 trophy idea is a trope that came from a similar thread I saw on FB the other night. Over there, the OP was expressing a similar lament to the lament expressed by the OP on...

Lol Sounds like you're a big "hey, if they can have women only events why can't we have men only events?" guy. Seriously though, you know damn well there's a big difference between making a senior grandmaster compete against people 30+ years younger than they are in a C-Tier and running a...
