Disc Dyeing 101: The Basics

Moon, i'm talking about these:

moose_mdg has a really good example on a white star disc with red/blue/purple dye

EDIT: not the "beast" part of the dye, just the outer part

So its just using sugar as a thickening agent? Won't Karo syrup work?

Not sure about discs, but I know Karo can alter the color of a yo-yo. Glycerol would be less likely to stain the disc since it's clear.

Gateway uses dish detergent when fly-dyeing... is rather thick.

So, this tutorial is in the sticky, but all the pictures are gone. Is that something that can be fixed?
