Found this on reddit yesterday.

Good to see the disc logo isn't quite as dumb as those shirts that show up from a google search of "disc golf prodigy."

Anyone else notice the resemblance to the Starfleet logo from Star Trek?
Everyone, I'd assume.

Also a big "A" as in Alabama

beginning to think there might be some truth to the Prodigy rumor......

In case you want to read the thread on reddit, but haven't used reddit before, just go to reddit.com/r/discgolf for the disc golf "sub-reddit" (disc golf section). There are only one or two "rumor" threads, but the one with the pics is near the top of the list. (I hope I didn't break TOS by posting an external link. If I did, I'll remove it ASAP).

I'm most interested in the D3 & D4 based on the approval text on www.pdga.com. But if the lesser numbers are longer and more controllable or at least more wind tolerant than the Forces i use in headwinds they might be great so wait and see...

Very similar measurements for 4 different discs. For comparison...

Destroyer 21.1 1.4 1.2 16.7 2.2 5.7 30.50 10.66
Katana 21.2 1.8 1.2 16.3 2.5 5.7 26.25 10.32
Wraith 21.1 1.4 1.2 16.9 2.1 5.7 29.50 8.85

Innova drivers have way more variety, I wonder if similarity in rim feel will be a good thing for pros throwing them, since they will all feel very similar in the hand, more consistent releases, etc..

In general, looks like the D# should be very similar in rim feel to the Destroyer, just a slightly wider wing. Unless they have a source of better plastic, or some other design aspect that isn't yet apparent, I would not expect these discs to be any better than what is out there already...same old same old.

Did they partner up with Lightning or something? Nice mold names.

Make a bunch of high speed drivers without the benefit of a distribution network.
They don't have a website.
They pay their team, but do 95% of disc golfers even care?
The video on the Prodigy facebook page is boring and fails to deliver on the hype.
meh....

I spoke with Phil on the phone a few months ago, on another topic. But in general, I like him, and I hope he is successful. Still, as everyone notes, there is a steep hill to climb.

The most important thing is that a growth in the number of manufacturers can only be stable so long as the sport grows as fast or faster from the grass roots level. Unless they grow the sport, then they are all simply crowding the market and going after a smaller and small piece of the pie.

From the Flyboy Aviation facebook page:

I'm honored to finally be able to announce Flyboy Aviation's affiliation with the new and exciting Disc Golf company, Prodigy Disc. The new company is owned and operated by passionate disc golfers dedicated to the future of our sport...some of the finest individuals I've ever know.

Check out our Facebook page, and Phil Arthur's Youtube vid introducing ProdigyDisc.

Happy New Year to all my Flyboy and Prodigy friends...It's going to be an exciting year!

I've been talking with some of the team, one of the interesting things is that the ladies are being treated on equal ground with the guys...very rare in any sporting venture.
