Latitude 64 is attempting to address the QC issues with their Royal line, and I expect other manufacturers will as well. Particularly, if Lat64 proves that some players will pay a premium for a better product. Players have already proven that they are willing to play considerably higher prices for new discs. McBeth's Discraft lineup, and recent Discmania releases are evidence of that.
My local PIAS had a half dozen Lat64 Royal Grace discs. They all were as advertised, perfectly smooth with no flashing. I purchased two. The grip was very good, but I wouldn't have been able to distinguish it from Goldline. We'll not know whether they have achieved their goals regarding durability for a season or two. I didn't buy these discs because of the quality improvements. I bought them because I haven't been able to get my hands on a Tournament Sword for what seems like years, and this seems my best option. Fingers crossed, for my seasoned noodle arm those swords were magic.
