The bottom of the flight plate says Champion Discs Inc. and has a patent number. It's a dinner plate, like a jumbo leopard.

Do you happen to know what that distance was? It's an old-school large diameter driver. It was quite overstable. At one time Sam Ferrans held the distance record with one.
Today it is best used for picnics...flip it over and use it as a dinner plate. The rim gives you something solid to help you push your food up onto your spork.

I saw a lot of the old-time players and they could be impressive in different ways, but the two guys that I would have paid to see again were Ferrans and Scott Stokely. Pure power. I was a total noob but I knew Ferrans held the distance record with a Phenix. We were watching him tee and he crushed a 400'+ hole and parked it. I said to my buddy "Wow, he can really crank that Phenix" and a guy next to us turned to me and said "Dude, that was an Aviar." This was back in the early 90's when it was news when you saw anybody throw much over 300'. Ferrans could bomb.Dang, that's like 640'. I cant imagine trying to crush that big sucker that far.
I guess I saw a lot of guys crank Scorpions back in the day, so the Phenix doesn't seem so awful to me. QUOTE]
I've never seen a Scorpion either. Another big diameter disc of old?
400' with an Aviar....so so.
WHAT? I have major respect for anyone that can 400' bomb an Aviar. Double that if they did it on a COURSE and parked it!
That's freakin' ridiculous. I wish I could have seen that.
