i made a retriever, pole style, using 4 parts found @ lowes...cost about $12...works great...i used a 6ft max telescoping pole, a pvc T-fitting, 2 U-bolts and 2 hooks...heated the hooks and bent them out a little and used transmission line rubber covers for grip

A buddy of mine (Fast Eddie) made something similar. He took a telescoping crappie pole, attached an augmented fish hook, and he can now fish out and flick said waterlogged discs from the creek bed to the bank above. Pretty sweet.
