Sweet.

And how excited are you?

I'm super excited. I just got back from the course and they've spent 3 full days working on it this week. They said they'll have the entire crew out there the next 2 days as well.

All the tee posts have been installed. They were hauling in wood chips on the gold holes in the back. It's looking great!

I am meeting the park district Friday morning to walk with the mower. I'm going to make sure holes 1 thru 5 and Hole 17/18 gets mowed correctly.

Awesome, looking forward to playing it someday!

PS- Anyone local looking for a Big Hyzer Ergo2, I have a brand new Black/Red for sale $189

Round Lake is now open for play. All baskets have been moved. Tee signs and next tee signs on every hole. Brand new large course map at kiosk with smaller maps to take.

Final mowing tomorrow morning.

Dana, where's the dgcr hookup? Jeezo man, sell it on eBay for that price.

Gonna be in Chicagoland this weekend, anyone looking to throw early sat morning... shoot me
A pm or text :)

Thanks. The map location on here is a little off. Fyi.

Already 2 aces on the new course. My buddy aced hole 1 on the gold course and I heard someone league aced 16 on the white course.

Round Lake is looking and playing awesome! I met the park district and escorted the mowers around. We opened up the prairie holes a ton!!! Looking for discs in tall grass sucks. It's dried out a ton this week. Come on out and get your butt kicked on GOLD!!

I'll be up there (Fairfield) around 9. Can't wait to play it.

I am planning on a round at Squaw Creek Gold early tomorrow morning if anyone is interested in meeting up there. Looking forward to getting my butt kicked.

Can someone tell me the distance needed to clear the OB swamp on Gold18?

I threw two pretty good drives for an "old guy" but they both hyzered out and skipped off the path to finish on left (if the path wasn't there the drives probably woikd have been safe).

Love the wooded holes.....prairie holes (1-3)to start were ho-hum...

My guess is you would need at least 325' to clear, minimum. I would guess the drop zone is about 275' from the gold tee. Those numbers are just guesses one of the locals might be able to give you more accurate numbers.

350 to 360ish. Depending on how far right you go. Just enough to test those internet arms.

I'll trust the previous posters as to ballpark distance to clear. I can't throw that far, but thought that with the drive being downhill, I could get my flipper SOLS across. No such luck, it faded late into the marshy area to the left of the path. Next time I'll throw for the drop zone.

Great course though! I had a good time getting my ass handed to me. There were even a few "easier" holes mixed in that broke up the beat down. I came within a foot of hitting the white basket on Gold 1, and ended up with a drop in on the Gold basket. That was my only bird and i wasn't very close on any of the other holes.

Huge improvement on the old fairfield course. Thanks to all involved in the redesign.

The distance from the Gold 18 tee to clear the OB was set to test the flight skills of the big arms for risk and reward. The normal wind will many times be coming through the tree wall from the SW and messing with your plans. It might have been better if more players had enough power to drive over the OB. But since it's a combo White/Gold tee, it seemed like we really needed that accurate crush to clear for the gold level players and the drop zone landing area for most players.
