Arm is fricking shot. Gonna go to the Dr. Monday. I just can't figure out what the heck is wrong unless there is a bone spur or something cutting my muscle but the pain isn't ridiculous though right now it is pretty constant. :wall: I am out of lortabs too.

I hope something good comes out of this...I really don't want to have to quit the sport...it is keeping me (more) fit and getting me outside a lot.

I will caddy for my wife and maybe throw righty a bit...I can throw about 80-100' right now but the putting is BAD!!

My pain is is on the outside of my arm, from shoulder to elbow in the muscle there that is between the bicep and triceps...not even sure what the hell it is. I cannot lift my arm above shoulder level without a lot of pain.

Thats awful man. I feel your pain.

I have rheumatoid arthritis which means pain every day. Disc golf is really the only thing I can do properly and I know that won't last forever.

I've had the same pain as you before (if I'm reading into it correctly). Feels like there is a long sinew from elbow to shoulder that just tightens up with a real sharp pain when you lock your elbow or reach with a straight arm.

Got it more when I was playing baseball back in the day though.

Best of luck with the diagnosis and recovery.

sorry to hear that man. and yea, no need to stop, just throw those zephyrs right handed. hopefully all is well and you'll be ambidextrous in no time

(I'm an RN, but I AM NOT GIVING MEDICAL ADVICE. PLEASE SEE YOUR DOC FOR THAT.)

That said, sounds like a possible rotator cuff or tendonitis. Have you had problems like this before? Not being able to lift your arm is a classic sign of RC. Do you throw a lot of overhand shots?

Could also be a form of tendonitis. It all depends on a few things, history, what you did, etc.

Sorry to hear about it. I know all too well about medical crap keeping me out of sports and activities I love...

i had shoulder surgery about 16 months ago and am still recovering from it. the last 2 years i started throwing with the other hand. I can get about 350 feet with the off arm . I can finally get to 400 with the recovering arm and it is still slowly getting stronger. the slowly part is frustrating. I have had quite a few surgeries and by far the shoulder was the toughest to deal with. My doc said many never fully recover from a shoulder operation.. they are tough.I see guys that throw nothing but sidearm and or tomahawks and thumbers on every shot. Its the worst thing you can do for your shoulder and elbow. Backhand is the best way to play. you will survive much longer in the game . I am 41 years old and never throw sidearm or over the top and think by the end of the summer a 450 foot drive will be no problem as long as the shoulder keeps progressing. Good luck with your shoulder hope it does not keep you out of the game.

Seems to be in the Brachialis area according to arm diagrams...again, nothing in the shoulder or inner arm, all outside along that area of the muscle.

PS Thanks for all the kind words...worst case I will walk around with a pink bag strapped to my ass for a while!

My good friend on this site "allgunkedup" has had plenty of surgery and even learned to throw with his off hand. i tease him for being old, but he still throws better with his off hand than most people with their dominant one.

he also can't put softly as it's too much pain, so he will rocket his putts, even from 8 feet

Been there done that and it could very well be a rotator cuff! Be careful about decided the surgery if that is it because it doesnt always work. Sometime time off can be very good for it!

The pain is not always in the shoulder. Referred pain is the term and can appear anywhere along the nerves that are in that area. Kinda weird, but true.

Just be careful and try throwing with the off arm. It will feel stupid for a while, but it will benefit you in the long run.

I feel your pain. I had to quit my martial arts studies because of shoulder problems. It was something I really enjoyed. So far, disc golf has posed no problems for me.

Bad arms

I torm my labrum in a dumb-ass fall about 3 years ago. It hurt like a son-b*tch. Couldn't turn a steering wheel for about 6 months. Luckily for me it was my left shoulder, and I am a righty. It took about 2 years of rest, rehab and excercise, but I finally got it where I can't tell it's even hurt anymore. But I'm not sure I could throw with it if I had to.

Don't mess around with a bad arm. Get it looked at by a good sports medicine doctor or orthopedic specialist. Until you get an MRI it's mostly guess work.

And don't get down. Rest and rehab and you will be back. Maybe it's time to learn your off hand. Play short tees and you'll probably be surprised at how good you can get.

I went bowling for about 4 games two years ago and had the same thing. I had not bowled for years prior. It took about a month for it to go away. I think (hope) you only got tendonitis like I had. If I moved my arm upward while sleeping, it woke me up. Good luck.

yeah i posted my sob story above dummy. as my arm is getting better the putts are getting better.

we posted the same minute old man. you just happened to hit send first, or you hit it a few minutes before me and your dial up internet finally put it through a few minutes later but just beat me

I'm really sorry to hear. Hopefully the doc can patch you up.
