New Guy in Erie, PA

Touch base with J Gary Dropcho and Deitzel and the guys from Pittsburgh.....they have built some of the best disc golf courses in the world and are making a strong case for worlds championships....they are probably youre most local connection that can give you excellent guidance

Thanks. I think I've sent a PM to one or two of them. And Deitzel responded in this thread (hi). :)

I set up a Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/ErieDiscGolf . Site itself later this weekend.

Here is a thread with a couple links that may help your cause with some positive disc golf media. It was a great idea, but sadly the thread didn't pan out very far.

I think it's amazing how devoted and gung ho about furthering the sport of disc golf so early in your addiction! We definitely need more players like you if we want this to keep growing and gaining legitimacy.

Thank you. I see what you mean about how it hasn't panned out yet, but it's more than I had before. I'll share my list below.

Thanks. It kind of drives my wife nuts. Any new thing I get into I get into pretty hard-core. I don't get into too many things or I'd never have time to sleep or hang out with the family. :)

I'll take this as far as I can. I've met a few other people who are equally as passionate, and that's been nice to see.

My obsession with disc golf drives my fiance nuts as well, so I know how you feel. I hope you can get it going so you don't have to drive so far just to play a round or two!

In the end she hopes I can get it going too, and she likes that I'm driven and passionate about things that interest me. I think she just wishes sometimes that she was the only thing that interested me. :)

If I could ask a big favor of everyone please click the Facebook group below in my signature and click "LIKE" on it. I need to get to 30 before we get analytics, and you're more than welcome to drop off after we get to 50 or so (so long as we stay above 30!) if you're not really near the Erie, PA area.

Liked and hoping I can do something to help out, whether in person (which is rare) or from behind my PC.

Thanks. Just the "Like" is important at this point. I'm meeting a fellow DGCRer on Weds and then playing Moraine with another on Saturday, I believe, so things are moving along.

Thanks for the "Like." I appreciate it.

I'd like to help with advice, personal support, questions, etc. problem is I am the entire state away....opposite armpit

It's always funny how people don't think Erie must be close to Philly or whatever because we're in the same state. PA is bigger than people realize. :)

Thanks. If I'm ever down that way I'll look you up before-hand and maybe I can learn something from you.

Thanks!

All I'll say is that over here, you won't be able to ban anyone just because you don't like them (and were abusing admin powers by going through their PM inboxes, like you did with me).

I urge you to really do your best to understand that not everyone will think like you. There are many ways to do this sport correctly and incorrectly. Keep this in mind when you get differing opinions or even just people pointing out mistakes you're making.

We rib each other quite a bit around here. Stay loose and roll with the punches.

Despite my earlier words in this post, I mean this when I say this: I hope you become a welcome and valued member of this forum.

Ummm, yeah...so which thread did you think you were posting in again?

^^^What? Are we airing out dirty laundry?

I guess he is. I own another site but all I can say about the member with the same username we have over there is that I don't remember him one bit, and he was never banned.

It's my complete intent to simply be here on DGCR as a user, and if I never mention the site I own ever again, then that's perfectly fine by me (it's not a disc golf site).

This thread is, for all I can tell, pretty much over. I've met some good people already, played DG with one of them and will meet another today, and have launched a Facebook page and website and put them in my signature here to support Disc Golf and the building of a DG course in Erie, PA.
