I have been reading about night disc golfing in here for a little while. I am really wanting to try it, but want to know how you get your disc's to glow.

What is you experience with night golfing?

And look at all the other uses for it:

  • Emits 395 nanometer wavelength
  • Uses 3 AA Battery (Cost half of the Price as the AAA and Last 3 times Longer than AAA)
  • 51 UV LED allow to cover a larger area
  • Makes semen stains and other bodily fluids fluoresce!
  • Perfect for outside use such as hunting scorpions and minerals!
  • Water and shock resistant!
  • Perfect for Leak Detection!
  • Rugged, machined aluminum construction with knurled design!

I saw one of these in action and now I have one on the way.. This is the most INSANE UV Flashlight I've ever seen....

That light is great. Juke had 2. The word is had. I borrowed one last time we were discing in Wisconsin and it came up missing. We were night golfing in a park and a cop drove by and gave us a bad look, the cop parked across from the park and we got spooked being in the park after it was closed so we left rather quickly, I think I left the flashlight behind?? so... I'm buying 2 of them, 1 for me and 1 to give to Jukeshoe for losing his. They're pretty sweet!! They charge a CFR glowie really good!! Cheapest Ive seen them is 14$ a piece with free shipping.

LED mag lights are the best and brightest lights that use the good UV range to charge discs.
Once you use one all other lights are wimpy.

Plus it doubles as a weapon when you are playing those sketchy courses at night.

Never tried the smaller ones but they might be alright too

Ive heard that the blacklight UV is the way to go Dave. Is that mag light blacklight UV? It just looks like a regular UV flashlight from the ad in the link. And how much do they cost? Im interested because Im in the market right now for a good flashlight for night golfing.

I bought my new Katana because I wanted a high speed Star driver in bright yellow plastic.. It's what I use.

Its not a black light but it does cover the UV ranges like a blacklight does.

With out all the technical mumbo-jumbo. It is hands down the best light to charge glow discs.

Price is higher than the wimpy little led lights you get off ebay but the quality is far superior.

LED Bobber lights available at most walmarts

CLear plastic-champion or plastic.

Quality(stickier the better) Duct Tape

Good flash light with built in laser pointer is ideal.-laser will help you pinpoint the basket without turning on your lights that could mess with your eyes.

Some people like to light the baskets, some don't. I recommend security flashlights with built in led handles(blue preferrably) very nice and easy to see on the course.

here's an ebay link

I couldn't find their output ratings online, but I know that my pocket flashlight has a max output of close to 150 lumens. It's a Fenix P2D (Special more powerful edition) and is about the size of a bic lighter, but a bit heavier. In my experience Maglight doesn't offer the brightest output.

Thats hella lumens that little light is puting out Mike!! Ive seen big flashlights that only put out about 50 lumens.

I love night golfing. All the parks around here close at dusk, and some are gated. It makes it a little more dangerous, like outlaw golf.

I usually run at night with two other people. We use a pretty ****ty light, but it does the job. My favorite night golf trips are definitely had at Sioux Passage. The first few holes are wide open bombs, but as you go on the holes get more technical. My favorite part is definitely the silence and the stars.

The cheap 395-400nm UV lights are by far the best way to go. Flashlights that emit visible light don't work as well and they blind you and anyone else you play with.

To all those who play dg at night: please remember to keep your flashlight beams aimed DOWNWARD. A bright flash in the eye during a glow round is not much better than a sharp stick in the eye. And at least the stick in the eye is my own fault.

Maglites are great for finding lost discs but do not hold a candle to UV flashlights when it is time to charge glow plastic.
