What courses in the great state of Ohio offer the most in terms of beauty, fun factor (not necessarily birdie fests but more in terms of hole variety), and traveler friendly (i.e. not private or hard to find courses)? I'll be in the Columbus area in the first 5 days of April. Presumably driving along I-77 so any courses along the way, give a shout out. I'll be tagging along with a buddy so that's all the info I can give at this point.

Cheers and beers amigos. :hfive:

In the columbus Area id reccomend Hambrick Memorial as its a National Tour Course then if you will be north of Columbus any of the Am Nationals Courses. Also If you wanna trade travel tags send me a PM.

Yeah, Mt. Airy is a lot of fun. Not really too close to Columbus but it's a good course. And there's a pro shop there in case you need some more discs.

Too bad you'll be in Columbus and not Cincinnati. I'll be the 3rd to say it, you described Mt Airy with this, it was the first course I thought of when I read it.

Yeah, in Columbus I'd play Hambrick and Lodbell Reserve.

Get to Cincy and definitely fly Mt Airy.

But, if you make it that far you might as well go 30-40mins farther and hit Idlewild.

If you are coming from the northeast toward Columbus on 77, you better hit Aboretum-Spiker in Canton, near the pro-football Hall of Fame. Also if you are coming from that direction before you get to Canton heading toward Columbus, is Deis Hill. Both are really big courses. Deis Hill is rated higher, probably because the holes are HUGE, but I prefer Spiker.

Players DGC at Alum Creek is the newest Am Worlds course and it's just off I-77 a few miles north of Columbus. South of Columbus about an hour is the Chillicothe Great Seal State Park course which is fun.

This is the definite must play in Cbus, 27 holes nice mix of big air and woods. try to play it early to avoid crowds.

oh and Blendon is only close to Hambrick in location not course design. still fun tho, think its $2 or something, I'm not sure its been awhile.

Blendon is only $1.50 and definitely worth it. Leave your drivers in the car and bring your control and putting A-game to score well.

Deis is worth the drive, I found it t be amazing a few years ago while drving across Ohio.

Delaware is only 30 min or so north of Hoover/Hambrick and is a great course. By far the best am worlds course this year.

So, I'll be golfing all day Friday and partly Saturday apparently, around the Cleveland area.

Not by as far as you might think right now once all the other course changes get completed.

Playing Hambrick and Blendo today in the afternoon.
