PDGA 2014 Schedule??? Anyone???

Typically, December 1 is the absolute latest that the A-tier schedule gets posted. Got to keep in mind that A-tiers (and above) aren't like B & C tiers that can just be scheduled on a whim based on whenever the TD wants to do it. They have to be coordinated and spaced out both geographically and by date so that there's at least some "tour-like" flow to them. It's a much more complex project than I think most people give it credit for.

Mileage requirements have relaxed even more for 2014 which will provide more date options for events at all tiers.

NT in Rochester, New York This year!

This is in celebration of our 40th annual Flying Disc Open- This also happens to be the longest running annual Disc golf Tournament.

Hope to see you all there!

It would seem that the schedule is being delayed a bit this year because, despite the mileage restrictions being relaxed, lot's of A-Tier events are being told they have to reschedule or face overwhelming competition from other events or national holidays. Tournaments which draw the most pros are being given top priority and everything else is being asked to battle it out for the few good slots left.

The schedule is NOT being delayed, though. Every year, the A-tier schedule comes out on or around December 1. This year is no different.

The scheduling issues, and I've spoken directly with the Tour Manager about this, have a lot to do with Pro Worlds being in Portland and having to re-jigger the NT schedule to accommodate that. And as the next domino to fall, the A-tier schedule is being affected for much the same reason.

They are also talking about planning the bigger events at the spring 2014 conference to plan the 2015 calendar (rather than the summer conference). This is welcome news for TD's who like to plan more than two months in advanced for their tour dates.

Nice to see the Peoria A Tier moved to Saturday / Sunday this year, I can finally participate!

Is anyone planning to rack up 88,000 frequent flyer miles to hit all A's and above?

I couldnt agree with you more on this one. I think hell be surprised how much more people play

What if the Peoria A-Tier is Fri afternoon, Saturday and Sunday? They are going to try and get it to seem more like a NT. 4 rounds on 3 courses with a final 9. That's not official but looks like its headed that way. Could still travel on Friday morning to make the 2ish start. Would that keep more players out still?

The majority of players that wanted to play Ledgestone but didn't over the past 2 years were a direct result of the Fri/Sat scheduling. There are many players from IA/MN/WI that are a 6-8 hour drive away that could not deal with the Friday start. They would have to take Thursday AND Friday off to make sure they have enough time to travel, and that still leaves no time for practice.

Having an NT status would probably motivate a few to come out, but most will probably still stay at home simply because they just can't justify taking that many days off work.
