So we're playing the back 18 at La Mirada and one of the holes has a mando that's right next to a parking lot, which is OB. You have to make the mando by throwing to the left of the mando, which will also put you out of OB trouble.

So what can happen?

1) You make the mando and your disc goes OB (an anhyzer shot could do this).

2) You miss the mando and your disc lands in-bounds (a hyzer shot).

3) You miss the mando and your disc lands OB.

Question: In case #3, do you take two penalty strokes - one for missing the mando and one for landing OB - or is one enough?

Anyway you could draw this out on a diagram? I am having trouble seeing this in my head.

one stroke. once the mando is missed it doesn't matter where it lands.

If there's a drop, you must throw from there, but there's no "penalty stroke" per-ce, just have to throw from behind the mando.

For example, at Burke Lake, if you miss the mando, and land next to the basket on hole 5, it doesn't matter. You must pick up your disc and throw your second toss from the drop point, which is located slightly behind the mando tree.

1) You play the disc per the regular OB rules 803.09.
2) Missing the mando gets you 1 penalty stroke and you must play from the drop zone. If there's no drop zone, you must play your next shot within 5 meters of the mando object 803.12 C.
3) It doesn't matter where the disc lands once it passes the wrong side of a mando 803.12 E.

Ahh, good ole hole 11. It is only a one stroke penalty, however you miss it though if you are a righty, you should learn to throw forehand for that hole. It has to skip up the hill to get OB that way.
