[Innova] The mythical Innova ROC

That is super odd.
Got pictures of the corpse?
Wild guesses… It got roasting hot at some point. Some voids in bad spots in the rim inside of it.

No I just chucked it in the trash. It was very stiff so maybe it was just unable to take an impact. It was in my trunk over some 100 degree days too. So IDK, wouldn't think that would make a difference.

My two month old KC Roc cracked in half. White and stiff 180 gram. I don't throw 500 either so I thought it was weird. Anyone else have this issue lately? I've only cracked older discs before, not basically new ones.

I had one crack on me recently. I don't throw super hard but I push rocs to the 300' ballpark. South Louisiana in June too, so it wasn't due to it being cold.

After the Covid purging of disc stock everywhere it seems like sharp nosed Rocs are a thing of the past. Looks like both KC's and DX Ranchos have the round nose and to me that just don't feel as good. The early round noses (circa 2018) were great and maybe it was the DX blend at the time but now ever Rancho I've felt is kinda blah :\

Looks quite different to me, blew it up in Photoshop and circled it. Now I need to check my own stock at home to see if I have anything like this.

2018 brand new embossed on left vs. 2004 Rancho

Unthrown Rocs:

1998 Mid America Open Roc <->Embossed Roc I bought two days ago.

Have you thrown the new one yet, curios to know if the lower plh makes them straighter out of the box

Yes the round noses are straighter out of the box. Actually fly pretty nice, but it's not the classic Rancho beefy when fresh flight.

I'm a weenie arm so YMMV; all I really notice is that if I'm trying to I can get the blunt nosed ones over on an anny line early easier than the sharp nosed ones. Basically they seem a tick less HSS to me out of the box. They still don't turn on me unless I flex it so it's not enough of a difference that it changes anything if I throw it flat on on a hyzer; it really makes no difference to me most of the time.

Yeah since I started revisiting the KC Roc this year I was surprised how straight and mild they are out of the box. Much more like 0/2, not like I remembered. Which is fine with me really. Easier to beat into straight to flip, if they wouldn't crack. Luckily it was only that one so far. I bought 4 of them so crossing fingers.

That's why I never got along with the McPros. Too straight. Though they do feel amazing. Fortunately, I probably have 40 KC rocs from 2010-2018. I haven't bought a non-USDGC roc in years. :D

I've been avoiding Club rounds since last March; I live in a rural red-State area, they never wore masks and we are still only at 30% vaccination. My wife and daughter are immunocompromised so it's just not worth it. As a result, none of the new pandemic-era Club guys know me. Somebody posted to a guy I know this morning about needing to see his old Rocs and I decided to be an a** and post "So you are the old Roc guy now?" with a picture of the Rocs I had with me:

I can let a lot of stuff go, but around here I'm the old Roc guy. Top center is an Ontario, the rest are Ranchos. I used to have a red w/rainbow hot stamp problem, and the evidence of that is still with me. I was using a Sentinel in the OS slot, otherwise I would have had a newer KC Pro in there.

Anyone throw KC glow Rocs? Just noticed them at the factory store so I bought a small stack. Curios if they fly any different than standard KC pro

Roc porn. <3

Quick question, possibly a stupid one, but why do 90% of people prefer white KC rocs? I hardly see people throwing orange and pink kc.

There might be an aspect of getting KC Pro Rocs that look somewhat like old school Rocs. Did old KC Pro Rocs come in multiple colors? I'm not sure. But, when I think of KC Pro Rocs, I think of them in that light tan color like Ken Climo had in his 2013 in the bag video. White is as close as you can get to that.

Because until recently, KC Rocs in anything but white were somewhat rare, and the colored ones were usually lighter weight.

Prepare for 8 pages of roc nerds expounding on the subtle flight characteristic differences in colors.

Not hatin.... just sayin....😁

swhite and The Albatross are on it.

There were a few orange discs in the 8X KC Pro run, but I'm unaware of any other colors and the vast majority of them were white. After that I'm not aware of anything but white in the 9X/10X/11X/0X runs; there certainly could have been but again the vast majority would have been white. It's not until the 12X's in the late '00's that they came in colors and they could have specialty stamps. Until then, white disc/stock stamp was it.

The only KC Pro Roc I've thrown that wasn't white was yellow. It flew like a a Roc. :|

I think I've seen yellow, orange, red, baby blue, purple, black, and a marbled gray. Maybe pink also?

Pretty sure I have an unthrown red kc roc sitting around from my local club's New Year's Day tournament a couple years ago.

What would you make of a roc that is penned ROC 180, is also embossed ROC, has patent number and looks very pearly or lustery?
