Using ribbons in the snow?

Frankly, no one I know uses ribbons in Minnesota after maybe trying them once. Maybe we find the discs better here but we have several winter leagues and I rarely see ribbons (no powder either).
 
agreed - ribbons can be a pain but I've found that if you tape them to the top of the disc you wont have the spooling up problem that happens when the ribbon in on the bottom. This doesn't seem to affect the flight much either.
 
another tip for playing in the snow, if you tape the ribbon on your disc the night before then put them in your garage or in your trunk outside to get them cold the snow wont stick to the disc when playing.
