A guy named Murray was cousins with my best friend, came down from Charlotte for vacation and took us to Tradewinds Park, Pompano Beach, FL. That was in 1999, and didn't play another round for almost 10 years, when I got my start at Mint Hill Park, Mint Hill, NC. Looking back, I feel bad that it was 3 of us noobs who went to play with practically a pro, so that day couldn't have been too fun for him, but was a blast for us. If there were more courses in South Florida I may have gotten really into it, but by chance I moved to a DG Mecca. I won't miss much here in Charlotte when I move away, but the DG is one of a kind and will never forget it
