Seems to fit perfectly with the 27 layout I have in my head, now just to look for more tee positions. Thanks a ton for all the help ladies and gents. I will upload a map in the near future so you all can see what you helped with!:hfive:

It may not be a great idea to design a championship caliber course with different flavors of baskets.

These are not meant to be a permanent solution, but I totally agree with what you are saying.

I'm doing something similar to this at my course:
Short 9: red and white tees
Medium 9: red, white, blue and gold (most holes have 2 fairways to pin, with red and blue on wide fairway/ white and gold on narrow fairway)
Long 9: blue and gold

This 27 basket layout offers 18 holes for each skill level without making red and white players hike half of the long fairways before getting to their tees.
