Who is the next star in disc golf?

Him and Hayden Schultz (Barry's nephew) are both tearing it up. Hayden chucks about 475-500 now and is just hitting a growth spurt.

Yeah, every time I see Aaron he's an inch taller. He'll be crushing 600-700 by the time he's 19-20 and done growing. He can already bomb, and he's got the putting to back it up. The 1035 he shot in MCO was a -5 at Elver longs in like 30 mph wind.....and he had 3 bogeys.

Yes, he's mentioned a few times in one of the three threads pertaining to this subject I've found quickly.

How is Peter doing these days?

It looks like he's traveling some. Dominant in Northern CA, but mid pack when traveling. That said, I've seen him top card a few times. I only know of him cause CCDG.

I think Adam Hammes and Anthony Barela are going to be huge in the next couple of years. Eagle as well, but he's already getting to be a big name in the sport, and is frequently on featured cards as it is.

I played a tourney in my childhood hometown this past weekend. Coming off a 977 rated round at my last tourney, I had high expectations and felt confident coming into this one, but was just not playing well. I shot terrible all 3 rounds and wound up finishing 10th out of 16. During the 2nd round I got beat by a kid on my card who had just turned 13, lived around the corner from the course but had only played there and like 2 other courses for the past year since he discovered the sport.

It was his first ever PDGA sanctioned tournament and he played MA1. He beat me by 3 strokes in round 2 crushing a few drives over massive water carries with no problem. I believe he carded about 5 birdies to my 2. He had a lot of confidence in his distance. He parked a 390ft hole right under the basket with such smooth form, taking the higher risk line too. He was terrible at etiquette and knowing all the rules, but I helped him with that and cut him some slack since he was just a kid and had never played a tournament before. He had a meltdown in the last round and I beat him by 7 strokes, but I was thoroughly impressed to see such a young kid come out and throw with MA1 when there were 4 juniors also in the tournament that he could have played with.. He would have destroyed them all. This kid is going to be slaughtering the competition in south Florida and beyond in no time.

I'm going to throw a couple of European names into the mix.

First up Blaer Orn Asgeirsson - remember this name.

14 years old with at least a foot of growing to do, probably more, tiny little kid at the moment. Totally fearless and a helluva player:

Euro Tour A tier winner - Battle of bluebell woods - http://www.pdga.com/tour/event/30632#MPO

Joint 2nd place British Open - http://www.pdga.com/tour/event/32420

And then when the big boys came to town he gave them a run - http://www.pdga.com/tour/event/30633 look at the finals...

Kids going to be a top player.

Next up Declan Bransby, recently turned 15 and pretty new to the sport ~2 years or so playing. Best attitude I've ever seen from a kid that age in any sport I've been involved in, maturity way beyond his years, love playing with him, he is always looking to learn and improving so quickly.

Winning most things in the UK recently but the come from behind win at the British Open was incredible with a storming final in raging winds knocking in putts from everywhere. http://www.pdga.com/tour/event/32420

Expect him to be our first proper 1000 rated player before he turns 17.

Next up Joe O'Brien just turned 14 about 2' tall and with a 6' dad he's got some growing to do sometime soon, had a bit of a breakout year this year, expect him to be winning a lot from next year. Just needs to get his mental game sorted, if he gets that under control he'll be a contender.

So much talent. DG is becoming like any other mainstream sport.. A lot of kids are picking up the game just like baseball. Instead of little league it could be more like league night for the juniors.

With the amount of kids playing we are getting to see more gifted ones. But it is golf... such a true mental game and time will tell.

And who of that group wants to dedicate a portion of thier life to the sport is another major variable as well..

But none the less cool to see talent and great play coming from our youth

Watching third round video of 2017 Worlds. First I've seen of Adam Hammes,...immediately thought of this thread. Four holes and he's impressed me, particularly since he was up the night before with food poisoning. Plus Eagle...in a few years I wouldn't be surprised if he takes World Champ.

This kid sometimes makes me want to quit. Cant remember how old he is but less than 15 seems right... I haven't seen him in a several months but last time I did he was barely 5ft tall...(I'm not sure this is accurate, he might not even be 5ft yet.)

One shot out of cashing in MPO at an Atier....

Did I mention he is ambidextrous?...

https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/33840

He shot a 1041 rated first round today and was leading open by 3 shots. Had a rough second round, but...
