This is a large course that shares a park with various other park uses such as baseball, picnicking, and trail walking, among others. Multiple tees are available for players of varying skill levels. The tips play very difficult.

The front 9 holes feature the most interesting holes on the course. Rolling hills, trees and water all figure into the design. Well-designed par 4 holes abound and use the land features well. There are some problems with how the course flows as there are a few places where you might be tempted to throw at the wrong basket if you don't pay attention to the tee sign or refer to a map. There is also a place where you will cross another hole's fairway to get to the next tee. There are some long-ish walks between a few holes, but not the worst I've ever seen. The "Next Tee" signage is appreciated. Water features are used well as OB.

The back 9 is somewhat lacking in the kind of land that makes the front 9 so appealing. Of note is hole #17 that relies on artificial OB areas (taped trees) to increase its distance and difficulty. While still challenging, the back 9's smaller trees and lack of water in play just doesn't stack up to the aesthetics of the front.

Overall, it's a fine course with a few issues that keep it from being a truly great course.

Next tee signs for red and blue pads which are concrete and plenty long, like the course. I like the low ceiling shots, and the leaves are not even in play on most holes yet. I bet this course is even more beautiful and challenging in full bloom, which I will experience later this year. The red and blue Ts are sometimes 2 totally dif shots like on hole 1 which is and amazing shot from the blue. Some of the ts were hundreds of feet apart and not directly behind each other either. I love the trees on hole 16, whatever kind of evergreens they are. They were almost maze like in the way that they were positioned. 1 true ace run for us noodle arms is hole 15 Red. 15 blue is an extra 30 or 40 ft. and brings 2 more trees into play, making it a challenge just to get through their gap and the gap in front of the red pad. So just moving it back that much turned it from a 240 ft. ace run with the trees so close to the pad that they were no problem splitting into a super hard double gap 280 ft. hole. If it isn't busy I would suggest checking out the view from both pads and throw the 1 that you prefer. Some nice pin placements. Hole 1 is next to water and some are positioned where if you miss your put, it might result in a roll away so far that you are now out of bounds. GREAT disc catchers and T signs of course. 600 to 800 ft. shots that are technical and not just open field bomb shots. There are some rare opportunities to grip and rip, but this isn't the Wilmont so accuracy you must have young Jedi. By the end of hole 3 I was bleeding from my face and wrist and I tweaked my foot going up a hill after retrieving my pitifully thrown previous shot. By the end my back was feeling like my foot. I cut my face and wrist in the bushes/small trees that are on the right side of the gap that is just at the top of the last hill to be breached as you approach hole 3s pin. It was about a 700 ft. shot that has you throwing slightly downhill for about 300 and then making an almost 90 degree turn so you can finish the remaining footage(about 380 ft.) required to reach the pin. You have and old dried up pond on your left as OB and it is tree lined on either side of you. Just a wonderfully frustrating shot. This course was amazingly clean considering there are no trashcans. This course crushed me and I liked it. I did park 1 of the par 4s for a birdie, but that is all of my highlight reel. I was so honored to play this course that I packed my bag as much as possible with empty beer cans(about 8) that I found, off the fairway for the most part. I also picked up downed lumber(except for a couple that were to heavy) on the fairway of hole 5 and lined the fairway to the best of my knowledge. Not bragging, just felt guilty for playing a course like this for free.

No trash cans, but the local club must pick up frequently because I have seen much dirtier courses that have plenty of trashcans. Almost no benches or places to rest. Volleyball court and playground behind 5 filled the air with the sounds of yammering children. Kids were running back and forth on hole 7s fairway. Back and forth kind of like a video game and of course the parent is standing their with drool coming off the side of her chin as she is deep in meditation trying to get that "oblivious to everyone around me" Chee going. People frolicking on the fairways of 1 of the open later holes, I think 16.

I have only played 53 courses so far, but this is the 1 of the most balanced and well designed ones. IMO this course is not over rated at all and is just amazing, but as I play more courses only time will tell if it's rating holds up. My 1st Houck course did not disappoint.

Pro & Am Concrete Tees, All shots needed, Elevation changes, bathroom, trash cans, heavy forestation, open shots. nice balance of long holes and short holes, lefty and righty, well maintained. Great A++ signs, minimal grafitti, tell you where next tee is.

Layout forces you to walk back through fairways, muddy after rain on 1st nine, need mulch or sand. Some walkways come into play on a few holes.

Course reminds me of Veteran's, but without the Cactus. It has really nice elevation changes, which i love and a great variety of shots needed. I had a blast out there with 3 of my friends, definitely a favorite now, glad i finally played it.

This is my home course so forgive my partiality. That being said, this is one of, if not THE best course I've ever played. It is very long, even from the short tees. The long tees are ridiculous! Lot's of elevation changes and trees. I am so lucky to live minutes away from this gorgeous course!

Muddy at times, with alot of mosquitoes in the summer.

Hole #3 is the hardest hole I've ever played, it is a beast!

I had a great time playing this course. The course is a challenge from the beginning to the end and had a good variety of shots. The course had good basket locations and beautiful scenery through the whole course. This is another must play if you are in the area.

This is a well maintained park with a family atmosphere. The holes are varied which keeps your attention. There are plenty of elevation changes and enough tree hazards to keep you coming back for more. It takes about an hour and a half for two golfers to complete the course.

My only complaint is that you don't have to throw over water and some punks have damaged some of the signs.

A tip for hole 5: Don't throw first. Let your buddie throw his driver and hit a tree. You can then walk up and toss your putter or midrange and land right in the middle of the fairway on your way to a par.

A tip for hole 11: The tree/shrub line along the left of the fairway is a disc eater. Stay right. Or if you are a real man, throw a cammo disc.

Alright, I feel spoiled as this is my home course. When it was first built is when I decided to try out disc golf. It was frustrating to say the least my first couple times out because of the difficulty level of the course, but after playing it enough it has to be my favorite course. Has as many Par 4s and 5s as any other course ive played on. Holes 1,2, and 3 let you bomb it, with an easy birdie hole for 1 if you get your drive down the fairway(and not rolled down the left side to the old creekbed) Hole 3 is one of the longest holes ive ever played, and still struggle to shoot a 5 on it all the time. Holes 4, 8, 14, and 15 are my favorite par 3s to play, great for a curved backhand shot. It took the maintenance a couple months to start mowing the course but its been pretty well kept ever since. The best thing about the course is that its built on a huge plot of land, so the holes dont interweave too much.

Mosquitos, Posion Ivy. Holes 5,6,7 are the worst, so be sure to bring your OFF. Can get busy later once everyones off work, so go early in the day.

I only give it a 5, because this is what I compare all other courses to.

Harry Myers is one of the only courses i've played that has par 5's, 4's and short birdie holes, and it's well designed with plenty of shot variety. I love the idea of playing a disc course like a ball course, setting up shots on the par 5's and 4's. It requires you to lay up and play smart shots requiring a degree of thought and strategy that is not necessary playing short birdie or die par 3 courses. The maintenance is spot on and navigation is non-issue. This course is an absolute "must play" if you are traveling to the metroplex to play!!

Almost none, other than some hood rats graffiti'd most of the tee signs. It just burns me up to see that kind of disrespect. Also, a fair amount of trash is left out there, not as bad as some other metroplex courses, but disappointing nonetheless.

Playing this course has humbled me quite a bit. Hats of to the designers and the great parks department employees who keep the course maintained so well.

*Great course in a great park with wonderful amenities.
*If I was just ranking the front 9 this course would get a 5. There is a great mix of long open holes with well defined fairways and tight technical holes mixed in with some change in elevation (as least as much as you could expect in Dallas).
*Course is very fair...make a good shot and you have a chance to score well. Poor shot selection and poor execution are punished.
*I love that this course has a mix of legit par 3's 4's and 5's.
*Long and not as long tees on most holes with nice concrete tee pads.
*18 DiscCatchers...
*Almost impossible to get lost...there are signs to every tee from pin and even signs that point you towards green on a few holes that are hard to find.
*Hole 3- might be one of my favorite all-time holes. A great drive followed by another phenomenal drive and you might just have an outside chance for a 3. Take a 4 and you are still feeling like you just birdied.

*Not much shade on the back 9, can make for a HOT round.
*OB lines on 17 are not always painted clearly.
*During the fall there are several other events that take over the park (Cross Country races etc...)

This course is as good as DFW has to offer. It will wear you out physically and mentally!

OK, let me start off by saying this course is only available for playing by the manliest of men (or women). My friend, if it was possible for a course to sprout chest hair and a five o'clock shadow, this place would look like Tom Selleck. It is just that manly.

It was never intended to drive to the mall so you can pick up that adorable shirt at Abercrombie & Fitch and play 18 holes in under one hour.

It wasn't meant to transport you to yoga class or Linens & Things while you pitch and putt. No, that's what your other courses are for. If that's the kind of place you're looking for, then just do us all a favor and stop reading right now. I mean it. Just stop.

This course was engineered by 3rd degree ninja super-warriors in the highest mountains of Japan to serve the needs of the man that cheats death on a daily basis. They didn't even consider superfluous nancy boy amenities like water (real men don't get thirsty).

There's only 18 holes that separate you on this hellcat from Planet Kicktale. Trust me, when you break par on this course your wife and the offspring that carry your name will talk about it for centuries. It will live on as a monument to your machismo.

Now, go look in the mirror and tell me what you see. If it's a rugged, no regrets, super brute he-man macho Chuck Norris stunt double, then go after this course.

Well, when I find one I will let you know.

Tell me something is wrong with this course and that's liable to earn you a Burmese-roundhouse-sphincter-kick with a follow up three fingered eye-jab. Would it hurt? Heck yeah. Let's just say you won't be the prettiest guy at the weekly MINI anymore.

Play the long tees for a real man course and count everything as a par 3.

Excellent top notch course by the master of design John Houck. Large concrete tee pads on both long and short tees. Double chain Discatcher Pro baskets. The best tee signs in the business (with OB markings), as well as secondary signs pointing to the next tee where necessary. Multiple restroom facilities. Tons of other things to do in the park to keep everyone in the family entertained.

This course is long and challenging. Multiple par 4 and 5 holes that really mean it. Nice elevation changes on many holes. The first three holes set the tone for the round with #1 teeing off through some tough close trees and a basket sitting on the shoreline of a small pond. #2 is a long downhill drive which more than likely leaves you with a long uphill approach. And #3 is the sickest hole I've ever played: 800+' with two signs directing you how to get to the basket along the way. Carding a '3' on that hole is next to impossible for mere mortals, and a '4' takes three perfect shots to get there. Most of the short holes are pretty tight with the exception of #8, but if you go long there beware the drop-off. #16 is a beautiful hole: 573' uphill through multiple tree lines with the yellow basket gleaming in the distance. #17 is a great penultimate hole playing 800+' around OB trees really letting you crush two or three throws.

Poison ivy abounds in the off-fairway rough. The route from basket #8 to tee #9 requires you to cross the fairway of #3 so be on the lookout. Most of the off-fairway rough is severely punishing affording little chance of making a saving shot. Hole #8 is has "Mando" scribbled on the tee sign; I asked Mr. Houck about that and he said there's no official mando, but it was intended to be an anhyzer shot and the parks department was supposed to plant some more trees blocking the hyzer shot and protecting the sidewalk, but that never happened. It'd be nice if several of the tee signs, specifically #3, had some intermediate distances on them. When the power lines are buzzing it detracts from the aesthetics of the course. The OB trees on #17 need better markings. One legit knock on the course might be that there aren't enough anyhzer shots to make it more balanced.

You won't usually get any pedestrian interference while playing as the course stays away from the other park amenities for the most part. But there is a trail through the latter half of the holes so be aware of that. This course is a blast to play and frustrating at the same time because of the difficulty. Hole #9 owns me as I've carded a '7' both rounds so far. Playing this course close to par is an accomplishment. I'd love this course to be close to where I lived.

The best thing about this course is the challenge level. There are several holes that are true par 4s and at least a couple that are par 5s from the long tees. Hole 3 is a gorgeous hole. You shoot long down a hill about 300 feet (more like 350-400 from the long tee) and then you dogleg right around some tall trees and little valley to the right. If you lay up there, you are then shooting through a tight window over another small valley about another 400 feet into a tight window into where the basket is located back down a small hill into a wooded area. I really dig this hole. There are several holes that are really memorable standout holes. Hole 1, especially from the long, 2, 3, and 9 are all exceptional holes that I really enjoy playing. The course is located in a very well kept park with lots of fun things to do. Plenty of room to warm up before a round. There are shorts and long tees to choose from, although several holes have just the one tee box. There are high quality concrete tees with plenty of room for a run up. Quality signs that give par, distance, and denote obs and mandos. There are signs posted to help you navigate your way to the next hole as well. There is water on the course, but doesn't really come into play unless you have a very bad shot. Obs and mandos are fair. Tournament quality course. Baskets are quality and often are set in a way that you have risk/reward factors to consider in running for your putt. There are at least two buildings with restrooms that are clean and maintained. Gazebos on location for shade and grabbing a bite to eat. There are two parking lots to choose from that are near hole one. The one that is further from the ball fields are acutally closer to the tee box for 1. Very fun course to play!

The back 9 is somewhat blah compared to the front 9. It is still a lot of fun and has some long holes that you can unload on, but not as good as the front 9 in my opinion.

Watch out for snakes by the basket for hole 5 and the tee box for 6, I nearly jumped on a water moccasin the first time that I played this course. Also, watch out for thorn bushes, they are vicious. I got cut up quite a bit trying to play a lie that was in a thorn bush in a tournament. Other reviewers have mentioned the tree line that is marking ob on hole 17. When I played the hole, the trees were spray painted orange, so locating the ob line was no problem at all. Once you know where the line is, it is no problem seeing it. You may want to ask a local about it or just disregard it all together if you don't care about playing the ob line. This is a very tough course, especially from the longs, and especially when it is windy.

Great terrain and layout, from the beginning to the end. A lot of varied obstacles and elevation changes. I have read on here that it is not a beginner course but this is my home course and being a beginner, I love it. It has spoiled me for anything less. We play it weekly and with a fairly large group and it plays very casually and challenging. All holes are well labeled, great tees and the grounds are maintained well.

Hole 1 is a little hard to find. But not many cons.

It is well worth the drive, there is great playground and spray park for the kids. It is a good place for the fam even if they don't play. It is a great walking course and is a lot of fun.

I love the evelation changes on this course. This course has short, long, tight, open, and water holes. The signage of the course was spot on including where the next tee was. I was able you use every disc in my bag. Also used every shot, back hand, forehand, thumber, tomahawk, and a roller. The park was every clean and well maintained.

Crossing fairways were a problem. One of my party was headed to the next tee and almost got hit from someone teeing off from the 3rd hole. If you get caught in some of the brush off the fairways. There is absolutly no way to get out, it is thick. You might as well take the drop walk out of the brush and try again. We couldn't find the first hole.

I need to go back and play this course again. I was all gung ho for the first 7 holes then I was just really frustraited. It is definitely not a beginner course.

Fantastic layout and design by John Houck. This course plays tight technical holes that are densely wooded to long monster open holes complete with elevation changes between shots. The layout forces a player to use every shot in their bag to produce big payoffs or big trouble.

The tees are large concrete pads playing to DisCatcher pins (much easier to see than the Mach III's) that are great for players new to the course. Every hole has a two tee options for par and pro par players, and each tee is comes complete with full color sign showing the hole design and yardage.

Sign, signs, and more signs. The holes are big and crisscross over each other - but if a new player to the course is observant - they shouldn't get lost since there are ample signs pointing to pins and upcoming tee boxes.

I've heard about drainage issues on this course, but I played it after Dallas received about 5" of rain over a week, and I never had a single issue on one or the rest of the course.

(Yes, this is a positive) - Hole three - this baby is one B.M.F. It plays almost 700' from the front and 824' from the pros. A person throws from an elevated box on setting up for a big dog leg right and into the depression in the land. From there you enjoy a blind pin shot (look for the sign) over some water and large hill guarded by growth on either side. You will not forget this hole.

BEST HOLE/S: #3; #4

If this place had a little more water, I think it could satisfy every player. Even then I'm trying to find a negative about this course. This is a serious course that will challenge every playing level, although newer disc golfers may get discouraged after a while (especially during hole three). Of course - new players may also get spoiled if this is what they'll compare all other courses too.

Parking is easy, but finding the first tee would be a little easier to find if there was a nice course map by the parking lot. We found the first and last holes by a little trial an error when first arriving to the park.

WORST HOLE/S: #17

Harry Myers is championship caliber course - period. It has all the elements a player wants to improve their game and become a better player. My buddy even said hole five felt a little DeLaveaga(ish) with it's tight wooded tees over an elevated tee box.

I think what sets this course apart from other courses is its diversity. On one hole you're playing in the deep forest curving around trees and hoping to stay out of the swampy mess, and later you'll play a Texas hill country hole with good elevation on a wide and rough countryside terrain.

Also, given the fact that there are two equally thought out tee placements, 36 holes is a great option, and I'm sad I didn't have time to test the pro par locations. If you do get in 36 - plan on making a day of it, because the course feels long and will work you.

Given all of this, Harry Myers deserves my first 5 star rating ever because I played Towne Lake DGC, Alex Clark Memorial DGC, B.B. Owen Park, and Porter Park DGC in the same day - and in that great company this course still stands alone.

Very good course with TONS of different shots. Short and longs on pads on most holes. A good mix of tight fairways and open shots. This course will test everything you have in your bag and then some. You will need everything from rollers to thumbers and everything in between. Great tee signs and baskets. The pads are good as well. Must be consistent off of the pad and on up shots as well to score well. A big arm is a big plus especially from the longs. Not any places to lose plastic is a plus too. Pretty east to follow except for 3 and 8. You really get rewarded for good shots and punished for bad ones when you are in the rough.

Holes 3 and 8 can be confusing for someone that hasnt played before(you see 8's basket from the tee). The criss cross of the fairway after 8 is crazy too. A little trimming around some of the baskets and a couple of fairways would be nice too. Other then that, not much except poison ivy and snakes during the hotter months.

Park and playground nearby for the family to hang out. Fun and worth the drive!!

Houk had A good time on this one,variety of shots needed to shoot well,Ties Houks other course in Mckinney for best signage,very nice low rolling valley the course flows thru.If your wondering if you are at pro level try battling all longs here.Playing mixed tees here is the best eighteen of hardcore Disc you can put yourself through in the metroplex hands down.Two of the longest holes in DFW reside here.

On windy days you'll definately feel it on the back half.Not alot of trash cans.I have seen lost discs on eighteen going hyzer over the basket deep into the woods or (snake)pond.A few short holes that are a little dull towards the end.

If I had to do a top five best DFW holes countdown Hole three here is one of them,Z Boaz,Gateway an Crossroads of Life and Veterans the only comparisons to this beast of a park. .

Everything you would want for a tricky course is offered at this course. Woods, tricky holes,easy holes, and great scenery is just a taste of what is provided. Played this course for my first round of disc golf ever and enjoyed every bit of it.

The only thing i can honestly think of is maybe updating the hole info at the tee area.

Worth playing and well deserved of the #17 rating it has on the top courses and could very well be higher rating.

Beautiful city park that's always well groomed, has nice/clean restrooms, water fountains, and a small water park for kids. The City of Rockwall puts a lot of man hours into keeping this park clean, and the large number of people there on an average weekend shows the results of those efforts.

The course was designed by John Houck, so you know it's going to be challenging...and hole 1 starts off with a big challenge. The basket for this hole sits on a steep incline leading to a small creek - very beautiful, but treacherous. Holes 2 and 3 are long (#3 is the definition of "epic"), 4 - 8 are all short/tight/technical midrange distance shots. Hole 9 offers another big challenge with its tight, up-and-down, winding tunnel lined with thick woods leading up to an elevated basket. Holes 10-11 are mostly flat with some very slight elevation changes, but both have narrow fairways lined with trees. 12-15 are all birdieable, and although each is unique, these feel a little like "filler" holes compared to the signature holes early on. 16 is another bomber - uphill through a fairway dotted with evergreen trees with OB fence on the left. 17 is a giant, wide-open par 5 that utilizes an imaginary OB line marked by a series of trees...pretty difficult from the long tees, but a little gimmicky to me. 18 is a simple hyzer with another sloped green, this time heading towards thick underbrush.

All in all the design is very challenging from both sets of tees...though the longs do offer significantly more challenge on most holes. Houck did a great job of utilizing all the unique landscape features in the park, and most of the holes really make you think before you throw.

New Discatchers on every hole, most have 2 sets of tees (all concrete), and each tee has a very nice sign.

Many of the holes will probably be overwhelming for new players.

The sign for #3 makes it looks lot shorter than it actuall is, which confused me the first time through. Also, the walk from Hole 8 to Hole 9 crosses the fairway for Hole 3...though the area is open enough that being hit isn't really a concern.

Some of the schule is very thick and difficult to recover from - for me, this isn't necessarilly a con but to some it could be.

I've heard some complaints about the wind at this park...but personally I've never felt it was stronger here than anywhere else in Rockwall. In my opinion, wind is a part of the game...so you just have to deal with it.

The first time I played Harry Myers I was blown away...it offers some truly unique holes: 1,2,3,9....especially 3 (I could play that hole all day). After playing several more rounds, I realized that some of the holes pale in comparison to the others. Should Houck have "toned down" the signature holes to make the others seem better? Absolutely not! The signature holes make this course...and the rest are all very solid, just don't make me feel any excitement like the others.

From what I've heard, the City of Rockwall has been very pleased with the course and is already making plans for more. Considering the amount of resources they have available, Rockwall could really make a name for itself in the Disc Golf community with more courses like Harry Myers DGC.

This course is very challenging. It requires a large variety of shots to shoot par. The mix of par 3's, 4's, and 5's keeps most of my discs busy. #3 is a little tricky. The sign says it veers right but the dog leg is almost 90 degrees to the right. It is a very long hole, as is 17. The group that I play with refers to holes 5-7 as the Ho Chi Mihn Trail. You can add a lot of strokes on these three holes. #9 takes you back through the woods once again. If you play during the week, it is seldom crowded. I try and play this course a few times a week. The park is very clean and has water fountains and restrooms near the first tees. This is the best course I have played in the area. The city of Rockwall has now gone out and put up at least one new sign per hole and two or three on the tricky holes. There is now no way to get confused or not know where the baskets are located. Kudos to the city for spending the money to put up these new signs. Hopefully the new lakeside park will be completed soon and Rockwall will become the premiere location for disc golf in the metroplex.

If you don't get out early on the weekends it can get crowded fast. I have had to wait behind groups of 5-7 teenagers a couple times. Most people are very courteous and will be happy to waive you through. Some people have complained about poison ivy. I do see where it could be a major problem but I have been really deep into the woods and have never gotten a single outbreak. I am very allergic to it so if I got into it, I would know.

I throw a roller off the tee on #'s 2, 13. I consider myself a decent beginner. I have played this course many times, always from the red tees, and have shot 63 one time. I average 69. If you can make the trip out to Rockwall I highly recommend this track. Happy throwing.
