This is a special little course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Feb 13, 2022 Played the course:once

Pros:

For being one of the smallest parks with a 9-hole course that I have ever played, this course was extremely well thought out with holes that truly test your ability. Each hole is easy to find and the park is quite beautiful with a pond that you play around and over. Really quite a unique place that will probably have you playing another 9 holes after you finish the first time through. It's well maintained with the grass short. No nasty rough like many of Florida's courses. It has some old Disc Nation stickers on the number plates!! Gotta love that.

Cons:

Park on the road or possibly near the disc golf bulletin board?? The hole along the fence with the pond on the left is a bit sketchy and you can easily lose a disc there without being really accurate. It looks like it just hasn't been trimmed in a minute?

Other Thoughts:

This was one of the shorter courses I've ever played. It's probably the smallest park I've ever played a round in also. Yet, the design is well thought out and these 180-280 foot holes are quite enjoyable to play and you can tell the local club loves their little course near Naples Beach. It's not a course to go out of your way to play, but if you are in Naples, it's definitely a great spot to get out for a round. The only way you are gonna have a bad time is if you a lose a disc, which could happen.... but even then, I think you'll be glad you checked it out. Also, Ankrolab brewing and Addison's On the go Chicken are absolutely amazing places. Addison's food truck had the best fried chicken I've ever had in my life. Seek him out on facebook and instagram, seriously. I don't recommend food often, but this guy knows what he's doing.

Basic but charming 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Feb 1, 2019 Played the course:once

Pros:

This is a pleasant and easy little course that's great for convenience and practice. 7of 9 holes are wide open, and losing a disc at all is impossible except for hole 7. Great spot for kids to learn to play, especially with the playground right there in the park. Good spot to learn to throw mids. Seems like it's probably always empty.

Cons:

Baskets are old. Shot variety is minimal. In most cases the "pro" tee is about 10 feet from the "am" tee, but hey, at least they tried! Nothing memorable about the course.

Other Thoughts:

If you're any sort of regular player looking for a challenging or memorable disc golf experience, this is not it. But if you're stuck visiting your in-laws in Florida and need to get away, or just need a place to practice, this is a very convenient spot.

Harder than it looks 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 23, 2017 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

This is a typical park setting course. Mowed grass throughout, with some typical Florida scrubs around a pond, and mature trees and palm trees scattered about the rest of the course.

The course is rarely busy, and lends itself to a great practice venue.

Baskets are older...Century or DGA looking to me, but serviceable.

Most holes are mostly wide open with maybe a few trees to navigate around, but nothing too difficult. And the length averages probably 240 from the short pads, and 280 from the pro pads, although there are a few longer holes (350+).

There is an OB fence that runs the full perimeter of the park (which is basically a huge square shape). That fence is the course's best defensive obstacle to overcome. For RHBH throwers it will come into play if you turn a disc over too much. A mild hyzer is the preferred shot on the majority of holes. A few require an anny which brings the fence into play...these holes are fun and challenging.

A decent sized pond comes into play on about three holes that run around the perimeter of it. One of these holes requires a short to medium carry over it. Beginners might struggle with this hole, but advanced players wont have any issues if they throw a good shot.

The flow is good...the first hole is by the first fence opening, not at the end of the cul-de-sac, and the course goes out around the perimeter of the park and hole nine finishes back near hole one pad.

Some caution is needed if there are lots of players teeing off on different holes, but its not that tight, and its rarely busy.

Cons:

I dislike the carpet teepads. If they were concrete this course would be so much better.

No restrooms on site. Gas stations down the road, but it still sucks.

Playground in the middle of the park, so watch out for pedestrians who often have no idea what disc golf is, and wander into the throwing lanes.

Other Thoughts:

Leagues every Thursday at 5:30 pm. Very welcoming group of all abilities. Even saw a few females. Judging by the league sheet on the board there are some very good players with averages in the -10 and -11 range!

Lots of birdies to be had on this course, but playing bogey free is the real challenge, as there are 2-3 tough holes.

I've played a lot of rounds here, and use it for practice. Its fun!

A pleasure! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Feb 21, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

Nice tropical scene. I love all the palm trees. Good length. Nice placements where accuracy is key. Nice water! No map required. You can see the basket from the tee pads. 2 tee pads per basket make it an 18.

Cons:

A few shots are too close to a playground area and community benches. Privacy is very limited.

Neat neighborhood course..... 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 4, 2014 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Nice course for beginners or just working on a mid-range game. 2 holes with nice distance. I enjoy playing this course to keep the mid game together. Understanding the course is not designed for big arms you will enjoy a couple rounds per trip.

Cons:

I'm one for concrete pads. So having said that, hopefully pads will be installed? Not sure if this is a con, but very few people on the course.

Other Thoughts:

Knowing what the course offers, its worth playing It's not a destination course but nice for a local thrower.

Accurate Drivers 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Feb 15, 2014 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

- Uses the few trees throughout the course well to add difficulty to the holes
- Easy to follow going post to post. The posts are facing in the direction of the next basket.
- You get to really practice controlling your drive and placing it next to the basket
- Great course for beginners to get their throws down in the open fields. Also great for experienced players to get practice accurate drives.

Cons:

- I am not a fan of water holes. There are two on this course with a few others near the water.
- If crowded some holes overlap and could cause people to be in the way of throws.

Other Thoughts:

- Very new so not crowded at all.
- No parking lot but you just get to park on the side of the road which is fine.
- park as close as you can to the park sign then turn right after entering the fence. The first tee is right there.
- There are no tee pads yet( but we talked with a guy who works closely with the course development and said they are doing their best to get 2 tee pads put in)
- currently spray painting the grass where the tees will be. and drop zone on #5

Little Charmer 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Nov 20, 2013 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

A Nice Neighborhood course that takes full advantage of the available terrain. Many mature trees and a small pond make this course a little more than a rec course.

Easy to see wooden poles mark the grass tee areas.

Nice, shiny, new baskets with number plates on top make finding the right basket very easy.

The park was well mowed, perfectly clean, and had an ample supply of picnic tables and garbage cans. Poop bags were also available in case you bring your dog.

It is literally right next to I-75. Jumping off for a quick leg stretching round is highly advisable.

There is a nice playground for the youngsters, and it's not too much at risk from flying discs.

Cons:

The course mostly plays along the perimeter of the park, with a fence on your right side a lot. There are also a few backyards on the edge of the course, so some care is required here.

There are a few holes where multiple baskets can be seen from the tee, and the course is a little tight in general.

There are no restrooms here. There are lots of trees however and a gas station not too far away.

A pond comes into play on a few holes, and there is a water carry. There is a fair risk of disc loss here.

There is no parking lot. Park on the road by the 1st walk-in entrance.

Other Thoughts:

A fun and somewhat challenging course that was much needed in this area. Hopefully, it gets some concrete tees and better signage.

* Note on finding course: If you come by I-75 from the north, stay in the far right turn lane, cuz you're going to be turning on to Davies right away, and again stay in the far right turn lane to turn onto Radio Rd, and then a quick left on to Palm Springs Blvd. If you stop at the Circle K gas station on Davies and leave out the other side of the parking lot, you will be facing Palm Springs Blvd when you exit.
