Anyone else order from amazon and take along time getting them. I ordered 2 warmers and 2 burners. Got the 2 burners but no warmers yet. They had to be shipped in 2 packages but damn its been 2 weeks alreaady and no shipping info on the warmers yet.

I got an email today saying inventory was wrong and I will have to wait for 7-10 days...well it has already been a week. I sent an email back saying I wanted them for free. We will see. I got two black ones and they will be here tomorrow. But the silver ones are taking forever. Got to have them for texas teams.

The funniest part is platinum catalyst hand warmers have been around for decades...

I remember comign across a couple old ones at my parent's house when I was a kid. My mom told me they were my grandpa's, and he used them while ice fishing. I wonder if she's still got 'em...

BTW, what's the safety concern with these things? I work outside during the Winter a lot, but I've been leary about using thee. I've been using the little disposable ones, but they just don't get that warm sometimes

They get hotter than the disposable chem packets. I haven't had any issues leaving them in my pockets for several hours. I suppose the biggest issue is to only expose to a flame while the burner is on the device, and not to let an open flame hit the actual wadding you soak with the lighter fluid.

It wouldn't really be that bad, since no oxygen can get inside, it might hold a flame out the top for a while. They get hotter with more oxygen exposure, that's what the felt bag is for...
I dunno, only safety concern I can see is not grabbing the hot metal with barehands.
Ohh, and not spilling light fluid everywhere and trying to light it right then and there...?
Don't try to eat it...?

I can't complain

probably get them in 2 weeks which will be about right cause by then it's gonna be edging -15 to 20 Celcius
I dunno what that is in Fahrenheit but let's just go ahead and say cold

yup that's the one I ordered...I'm predicting 2 weeks cause that is what discs take (well actually 3)

I didn't think $16 or $32 for expedited shipping was really worth it and paid $7 for first class USPS

Are there any differences between the Zippo and other brand hand warmers?
