Disc golf shoes

I've been really happy with this pair of Garmont.

They are durable, waterproof(Gore-Tex), and they don't make my feet hot like the Merrells did.

BTW, stay away from the Merrell Moabs. They are also Gore-Tex, but have a known issue with leaking and later splitting around the soles. The Garmonts are not cheap, but you really do get what you pay for.

You said it! I have a pair that I got end of last summer & I've had to shoe goo them a couple times already because the shoe is tearing away from the sole. They are one of the most comfortable shoes I've owned but didn't hold up like I thought they would for $120. But hey, I had a gift card that paid for most of it & I know they aren't actually made for DG

I'm looking at the Merrell Moab Waterproof, anybody have any experience with them? They look like the perfect DG shoe. Vibram soles, waterproof, etc.

I posted a couple above about them. The soles are great. My courses have concrete pads & the soles are going strong. But.....the shoe itself is tearing away from the sole. On the left shoe, I could stick my hand all the way through between the shoe & the sole. The piece on the front of the toe was the only thing holding it together

My form then sucked. Well probably still does, so may have been a huge factor. But I will say they are SUPER comfortable & the soles are awesome

These are my new DiscGolf shoes .. Haven't used them to much yet ..
but looking forward to it ~ Kinda hard to find size (14 Wide)
Got them for 70$ Shipped..

My ONLY dg shoes are merrell trail gloves. As long as you wear them without socks, you'll never have to worry about water. They're almost all mesh with little padding, and they dry almost immediately. Add in the Vibram soles, and the fact that they are barefoot shoes, and you can't go wrong. I've put thousands of miles on mine and they still look new.

Thousands of DG miles in .4 years? That's over 5 rounds a day and the average course is around or less than a mile. There's no way:confused:

Former track and field participant

When I threw discus in high school we used special throwing shoes. They are designed perfectly for rotating around on concrete tee pads. If you really want a shoe "designed to throw" you should definitely buy some. I wouldn't suggest walking around in them though. Personally I just use a basic pair of running shoes and they work quite well.

my New balance Minimus Winter Run's are awesome. I have great balance because its a barefoot shoes, and the vibram rubber is nice and durable. The winter Run's are also water resistant, for those dewy morning it keeps them pretty dry.

and they look cool too.

He didn't wear shoes before playing dg?

Maybe he runs in them also? That would add miles to the shoes for sure.

That's why I asked "Thousands of DG miles in .4 years?" I wasn't assuming all of them from playing disc golf, but he said those were his ONLY disc golf shoes. I figured most of those miles came from running or hiking, was just curious where they came from:D.

That's the way I feel about them but my sole delaminated under my left big toe. And I don't drag my foot. IDK why. Sucks though because the shoes are amazing otherwise.
