[Putters] Do you Approach with the same putter that you putt with?

I have four putters in my bag at all times. I carry two DX Aviars. One is for all my putts & the other is for preround putting practice. I never use my putting putter for up-shots/approaches. I carry a Champ Rhyno for windy upshots, get outta trouble rollers, approches & drives off the backhand & sidearm. I also carry a beat JK Aviar which I use for most approaches/up-shots, short forehand shots & backhand drives off the tee. Im in the process of figuring out what to use for my driving putters so that is subject to change soon. Even after I decide on what my drving putters are going to be I still won't use my putting putter for approaches. I don't throw apporach shots with my putting putter because I don't like beating up my putting putters anymore than I have to.

1 mold for putting, driving, & approaches. I putt and approach with a first run classic Judge and I drive and approach with a Fuzion Judge.

rarely. i use 2 putters for putting and 2 for approaches. the 'putting' putters are only thrown if the approach is open and there's no chance of tacoing one on a tree.

I have one putter that's for nothing but putting. I have another 3 that cover the full range of stabilities for drives and approaches. All wizards.

I use a Classic Judge for in the circle, Fuzion Judge for straight or anny approaches, and a ProLine Breaker for approaches where I have room to play the reliable fade.

See signature. I carry at least six putters and more if I want to try something out. Use mostly putters for approaches and usually putt with whatever I approached with. If it's a serious putt I would pull out my Ridge. Or Ion if its a longer birdie putt.

I putt with a Swan and use it for approaches around 125' and in when there is a really clean or open line. I use a GL Pure for any approach line shaping or if the shot is a little longer. Swan is great, but gets a little uncontrollable at distance.

No i actually don't, now that I think about it.

I putt with 4 chains magnets, of course.

But if it's a straight approach i use an ion. If it's a hyzer i use the new blizz pig, which replaced my gator. And if it's anny, I use a 4 chains, but not one I putt with, it's a 5/10 soft that I can put in my pocket if I wanted to.

Good question!

I'd be very interested to hear/see what's in your bag sir, with as much experience as you have.

Putting putter is used for putting only, never thrown. Once you taco your putting putter you will understand.

I putt with my recently-put-back-in-the-bag first ever medium P Anode. It's fairly beat and slightly puddle topped. I also use it for left to right moving upshots, drives and anything really tight. I use a newer soft P anode for right to left upshots and straight to right fading drives.

I only putt with the putting putter. I have another for extra-long puts, approaches, drives, intervening tree shots etc. Once in a while I'll putt with the non-putting putter, but I never use the putting putter for anything other than putting.

That totally made sense in my head...

I carry a blizz pig, SS Wizard and a neutron Anode. I will approach with all my putters depending on the line I need, but typically just putt with the Anode. But if I need an anny approach, I don't hesitate to reach for that MVP.

Yes I do, 0 - 200 feet = MVP Proton Anode 99% of the time.

Carry a set of twins so I always have a back up should something go wrong. But the comfort level of using the same disc over and over again makes me more confident when throwing it.

SSS Magic for putting only. Never use it for anything else. Zero soft pure for some approaches, DX and KC Aviars handle approaches and drives.
My putting putter has a specific pocket in my bag and a specific role on the course.

I have an 86 softie for anhyzer or uphill putts, a Tank for straight shots and a Rhyno for overstable putts. For putter drives or upshots I will usually use a Tank, Rhyno or Zone, but I'm really not a big fan of driving with putters, doesn't happen often unless it's under 150' except with the Zone. I can throw a putter 200+ easy, but for those shots I would rather grab a mid and power down a bit.

Depends on the approach shot because I carry both an Eclipse Soft Ion and a Soft Judge. I never use the Ion for actual putting, but I will use the Soft Judge for soft ground, 100 feet and in, and clear line of sight approaches. 200 feet and in, tough lines, and or on the ground that can chew up soft discs, I will use the Ion.
