It's because people weren't quite sure what to do with them... Hence the; throwing off of mountains into the abyss, giving to noobs, burning in fires, etc..

People needed tooling to let them know what the "Groove" was initially intended for. Now they're only used to keep the Dicks sporting goods disc golf section permanently stocked.

Those are intended for sale at big box stores. It also shows up on G* Bosses. Not sure what other discs it's on. Basically it's for the uneducated public so that they don't buy them to play catch.

Hahaha! That's awesome!

I've only ever seen that tooling on Bosses, but it's kind of funny that they need to put that on molds in the first place. We dumb!

Please... don't use the words Groove and expert in the same sentence.

While I find the Disc Golf Only advice interesting, I find it pathetic it needs to be said. Why would you think a sharp edged disc like a Groove would be suitable for a catch disc. Even before I started playing, I'd have figured that'd be less than comfortable. Why not just buy an actual Frisbee?

Right up there with McDonald's warning that their coffee is hot.

So if I eat mac & cheese out of a 'Disc Golf Only' Groove, is that akin to tearing the tag off my mattress?

I can see it now....

The Groove edge was not only sharp, it was razor sharp -- capable of almost instantaneous destruction of skin, flesh and muscle.

This was the beginning of the end of personal responsibility in America.

Even as a kid holding my dad's McDonald's coffee cups, I could feel how hot it was through the cup. She had plenty of places to put the cup in the car besides between her legs where it wouldn't have a chance to spill on her, and she didn't. Apparently I was smarter at 10 than she was as an adult.
