It won't be long before technology makes this argument moot. You'll have an ap that finds your lost discs for you.

One option missing:

6: You never return discs because you never throw where discs get lost. Therefore you never find lost discs to return.

Not very many discs are lost in the fairway. :D

Or #7: The "Leave Them Where You Find Them" people who neither keep them or call the #.

As for me, I voted D. I enjoy giving them back and hearing the story that person tells about the disc. Of course I feel happy when I make someone else happy. I'm a bit of a conundrum though as I do not ink my discs and really don't hate those that keep the ones they find. I'm the type that will look for hours so I can see A's point. And, because I don't ink, I know once I give up on a disc, it is now someone else's. To each their own opinion, I just personally couldn't live with myself if I didn't even try to call the number. Karna scares me too much.

Waaay too much effort went into the OP. Leave the plastic where it lies, and continue with your round.

I call the number. Period.

I also don't throw (any) discs with ink either, so it's a easy decision for me.

I'm all about karma and that disc golf juju, I don't think you could play well with a disc that you knowingly kept from it's rightfull owner anyhow... I'd be interested (no lie) to know if anyone has?

Has anyone ever aced with a stolen (no call lost disc). I think you'd be instantly struck with lightning. :p

I was a work party at my local course last week and this same discussion came up. One of the guys I was working with said he left behind one of his discs and didn't realize it until the end of the round. So as he was going back to get it he was waiting for a group to throw so he could safely pass through the fairway. He heard a bunch of hoopin and hollering and heard a disc hit the chains. He walked over to the group to congratulate the guy who aced when he noticed the disc in the basket was his! He told the guy that was his disc and the guy was like "do you want it back?". Needless to say my friend was the bigger person and gave the disc with his name/dye job on it to that guy.

D) all the way. It may be a stupid pride issue, however, I feel awesome if I can actually get a hold of the person and get their plastic back to them. I usually try a text first then follow up with a phone call. Often, people are so grateful at the rarity of someone attempting to return lost plastic (especially if it holds sentimental value or favored status) that they offer to join you for a round, making new friends, or offer reward. I don't need any reward, but, certainly take a lot of pleasure in returning lost discs.

Cheers.

Most times the person is a few holes ahead of my group on the course so they only have to hang out at their current tee for ten or fifteen minutes.

Or wait in the parking lot after the round with a beer or two.

Here is a great story: Today I left my bag, all my favorite discs and my wallet in my bag on the back of my truck. Came back to the course, found my water bottle and bugspray where the bag fell off my truck. No one has contacted me yet. :( :( :(

Most ppl say c, but act like e. I just leave them since I know if it has ink then 100% of time the person is still actively looking for their property. I know they will be back out soon and often until they find their disc. I'm not going to interfere with that.
