I think pointing to past PPV events' "failure" as reason to never try it again ignores that both technology and the sport have come quite a long way in the four-ish years since the last time it was tried. ....
Now, everything is better. Video is better, uploading (and downloading) through cell signals is better, accessing streams through a TV is better (and easier). Everything's just more accessible than it was even four years ago. Between that and a larger potential audience (more disc golfers now than then), it's entirely possible that a PPV model could be far more sustainable now than it was a few years ago.
That's not to argue that it would be an instant massive success, though. I'm only arguing that it absolutely remains a feasible option for now or the future despite past lack of success. It can't and shouldn't be dismissed out of hand.
I agreed. At the least, now we can set up a gofund me (or similar page) with the goal needed to pay for the live streaming and see if the peeps will ante up.
