[Mids] RDG Gila: Overstable Mid

We are looking into getting dye so we can make some bright colored with these clears.

Probably a little while before we have Dave load up the mold again though.

Thank you. I don't play much when it's been this hot, but I'll probably order a fossil before they go out of stock.

Snagged 2 175g Fossils over the weekend. Missed the heavies, which I'm slightly bummed about, but I'm really looking forward to throwing a Gila.

I've been rocking Comets and a nice Brinster Sent while I was waiting for these to drop. Comets are still magic, and one of my favorite molds, and I think the Comet/ Gila combo is going to really work out. I like beat up Rocs, but those Comets...

Hoping to beat up my slightly lighter Gila and pair it with a heavy when they are available again. Scales have been a game changer for me and I don't doubt the Gila could do the same thing.

Thanks JCass for bring this mold to us in the best base plastic out there.

Got my 178 Amber Gila today. Gotta say, you guys are nailing it with this Diamond/Amber plastic lately. Such a nice stiff, and grippy plastic. Reminds me of older PFN era Champion plastic. Im loving it.
The one I got is perfectly flat, and it is a total beefcake. Super reliable.

Keep up the good work, RDG!

Mwahahahaah. Loving the hungry plastic addicts.

Glad this batch of Fossil is surpassing expectations.
The max weights are somewhat softer so they're seasoning into that straight flight pretty easy. So nice having an Amber/Fossil pairing.

Wow, you really killed it with this one Jaime. The Amber Gila is THE overstable forehand mid I've been looking for for years but haven't found. These things are so fast and the fade is truly like a carving knife. It's really a thing of beauty. It's what I wanted the Verdict to be but it wasn't. Not enough HSS. It's what I wanted the Justice to be but it isn't. Too dumpy. Buzzz OS? Fuhgetabout it... Glow Gator had been around with me for a long time and it's great, but sometimes it whistles and it's just such a slow..... Gator. Never really felt like putting the time or energy into seeking out good Sentinals. Now I don't have to. A pair of Amber Gilas for the win.

Now the fossil Gila, whoa... I'm starting with the light one I got at 167. After a bunch of throws on the course and some tree hits its already started to straighten out. I think the description of "carving" is very apt. I can't get over how fast these things are. This is what I wanted the fossil Warrior to be but it just wasn't quite it. This is it. This has that feel. The low line drive blast straight as an arrow and then, whooop. Cut, fade, hit. Boom. And the hyzers.... Oh my.

Can you tell I'm happy?

I got my Fossils yesterday, so I took a half day from work and went out and played all afternoon. I was able to get quite a few throws in with the Gila and I'm enjoying it quite a bit. The profile is super flat, almost like a Sent bottom and a Warrior top. Super stable, loves to fade and has a decent amount of speed and glide while still being very predictable. I went a hair deep on a couple holes thanks the the surprising distance and a sweet hard, skipping fade. Dialed that in and oh man, this thing is going to be a very relied-on mold in my bag; paired with my Ghosts/Rocs and Comets. I didn't notice mine getting any straighter or losing any fade, but mine are max weights. The plastic feels amazing, best baseline out there. One of my discs should of been an x-out, stamp was pretty sloppy so just putting that out there. I don't care in the slightest but someone might? Definitely in the bag, this mold was worth the long, long, long, long wait! You really got a great mold here jcass!

Hooooooooooly freakin' Moses! These Fossil Gilas... Dude. Pancake flat, our beloved plastic blend, and while it's still fresh, it's just as OS as my Amber and Proto Amber. I can't wait to get a few woods rounds into this to see how it cycles. Super pumped. It feels absolutely amazing in the Fossil plastic with the FAF top.

I have to say Thank You guys so much for the support over the years. Without you guys taking a chance and buying our ridiculously stamped discs, alligator feet & countless variations of LiwzWiz, I would have never been able to make these molds come to life. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to bring forumcentric discs to my fellow nerds.

Many of you know that I've always wanted three essential discs since the inception of RDG:
- Wizard OS: Scale
-11x Teebird/Eagle/Banshee fusion: Tyrant
-11x KC Sentinel: Gila

With the Gila release I can say confidently that my Holy Trio of molds have been achieved. It is our crowning achievement and well worth the seemingly endless amount of delays, waiting & stagnation.

The Gila will be the disc we are remembered for. Hopefully in 20 years folks will be searching for first run Amber Gila and I'll sit back and thank my fellow forum nerds for making this happen. Thanks for this ride guys. It's been pretty damn cool.

Let the seasoning begin!

Thank you for making this overstable baseline holy grail mid. Its been well worth the wait. A Fossil or two paired with a heavy Amber in the bag is going to be one hot ticket.

I expect many, many "what was THAT you just threw?" when these things start carving it up. It's quite the sight.

Just got mine in the mail. The fossil plastic feels amazing! Nice & flat, feels great in the hand, and the stamp is sweet. I'm gonna play a Gila & Scale round after work tomorrow. I love my proto Gila, so I'm really excited to try out the fossil. Tomorrow can't come soon enough! Lol
