Is the Hysteria made of two different Innova molds. Something like a Valkyrie and a Viking? Or is it a whole new mold designed by Miscmania.

For that matter, are all the other discmania discs the same way?

the CD/Craze is a Viking hybrid of some type. I think the DD/Hysteria is a Wraith hybrid, but I'm not 100%.

I was under the impression that the distance drivers (or DD and PD at least) for Discmania shared the same top. The bottoms of them very. I'm pretty sure the PD is bottom half Firebird, but I'm not sure about the DD

the pd bottom is not like a firebird. try starfire with not as wide of a rim.

The newest versions of Discmania drivers (Freak, Hysteria, Craze, probably the upcoming Turning Driver, TD Rush will also) share the same top, known for some reason as the "Anhyzer" top (according to Dave D). The first run CD and the proto PD had a more blunt nosed top (which made the FR CDs much more stable than the newer Crazes and I love those old ones dearly. Not much difference in the PD).

Some first run DDs (pre-Hysteria stamp) were marked *AW, a working name supposedly meaning Anhyzer top, Wraith bottom. I don't have a Wraith to compare my DDs to, but seems fair, seeing how similar they are in speed and in flight (at least some P-DDs fly identically to Echo Star Wraiths, just cheaper and more readily available). The P-DD is also my favorite distance driver, the S ones don't have enough glide to really be useful IMHO.

All Discmania discs are either made using Innova mold parts or are original Innova molds (like the P1 which is a beadless Aviar and the GM Gremlin, which is an Innova Gremlin). They're designed by Dave D with input from the Discmania CEO, Jussi Meresmaa.

Is the hysteria a wraith bottom for sure? Is so I am in for a wraith that will anhyzer a little bit. Good thread keep the info coming.

It is a Wraith bottom, however, if anything it is the same or a little more stable than a Wraith.

Yeah, it's probably going to be a little more stable than your average Wraith. Though good news if you can feel your discs before buying them, there are some that have a lower parting line height than most and will be less stable. I have two in my bag, one that flies a little more stable than a Wraith and one that will gladly turn to the right and hold anhyzers if I want it to. Both have identical dome (and glide) and are indistinguishable, save for the PLH.

I bought a DD today with quite a pop top and it had on the bottom "P WR". Kinda odd. It is VERY overstable and I was curious to see if doing the top flattening would make it any straighter? I know IN GENERAL this is supposed to make them more overstable, but I haven't seen this to be true.

FWIW, it's a bright, neon green/yellow with the Hysteria stamp.

Thoughts?

If you want a less stable Wraith get an Archon

Anyone thrown a C-Line Hysteria yet? Wondering how it compares to the P-line in terms of HSS and LSS.

Wrong. It is a fb bottom and an "anhyzer" top.

That top is also used on, dd, pd2, maybe Dd2

The dd is a wraith bottom.

*DS beat me to it.

Also fwiw, i think the CD and maybe the TD dont have that top

I'm also interested to find out. I really like my wraiths but more HSS sounds appealing, as does less lss.

As you would assume for the plastic change, C-line DDs are very stable for the average Joe. Big arms will likely get longer straight flight before fade (well duh). It's not a C-PD2 but getting there, so the predictability should be there too.
