Good DG Shoes

Discspeed, I agree that too much nubbiness is bad- all those that bought the nface hedgehog will see. I'd suggest the new merrell chameleon as its new vibram bottom is much smoother. In all honesty though, since you live in fl the waterpro would be my suggestion. Its ment to use for stream stuff so its super breathable and light- the mesh is seethroughj. The bottoms are very smooth, so smooth I once worried. Mark ellis has been rockin em with what looks like water socks.

Cali, fwiw, ventilator is just a version of usually popular models. For example there's the moab- the shaved down version is the moab ventilator. Then there's the goretex version and a couple boots using the same bottom and general frame. So if you like that shioe you can have one for every season.

To use a leneant return policy is one thing. To abuse it is wrong.

I love vans and chucks but they're not made for any part of dg. If you really need to prove your punk some sombas whould be better;)

I wouldn't say their prices are any worse than other box stores of equal quality. Online stores kick their butt in pricing, but REI customers are insanely loyal. :)

The membership cashback is also really good. I spent a few hundred dollars their on some backpacking gear...then the next time I went in to buy a new climbing harness (60 bucks)...it was free because of the cash that built up via my membership.

Yeah I only do goretex if I have to. Waterproof is not breathable.

Fwiw, many times when the lining rips its because people didn't take the time to put the shoe on prioperly.

Good info. I might just use my usual work boots for the wet season this year even though I hate playing in those bohemoths.

My Asolo Flame GTX's do the trick for me in Michigan during the rainy/snowy/muddy conditions. I'm thinking of getting the Keen Milo II's once summer gets here.

I think its awesome that they're trying to make DG specific shoes, but I haven't heard much for positive reviews of the Milos. About everything I've read stated they start falling apart after a few weeks of heavy play or a couple months of light-regular play.

I've tried several shes and have yet to find something that is waterproof and durable. I don't really find it acceptable to spend $115-$150 on a pair of shoes that fall apart in six months. My Merrill Moab GTX lasted a little over six, but they deteriorated quickly in the following weeks.

Next on my list of shoes to try are some Patagonia Boaris Mids. They look like a good blend between normal shoes and hiking boots. They should handle most courses in central Iowa just fine. Hopefully Patagonia's "Ironclad Guarantee" is up to the stress I put my disc golf shoes through. If I can get a solid year of medium-heavy play into them I'll be happy.

After about 6 rounds in these I would wager that they would be worth the full price.

A ton of ankle support, really rigid in the arch part of the foot (great for rocks and stuff), vibram soles, goretex. They come in a few widths for you Fred Flintstone paddle foot having types.

Moabs are the flattest footed shoe I've ever worn. I had to put like an inch of arch support in mine to keep my heels from taking all of my weight.

has anyone tried out the Merrell Intercept shoes? the reviews online say they are great, almost 5 stars on average from over 50 reviews.

I've heard good things about the new balance hiking boots. I hope you can remember to update us again after the winter season to see if they really stood up to the test of time.

I am just starting winter #2 with my asolos. They took a while to break in, but the only visible wear and tear is from the gaiter straps. Dry, comfortable feet are a must-have for me while playing in snow and ice covered courses. The no-hassle REI return policy makes them worth the money for winter disc golf.

Speaking of boots. I just wear some generic rubber boots for my snow play.

They fit perfect but rub the outside balls of my ankles and cut them open. Anyone know how I can rig them up to not do this?

I think you have an odd definition of perfect fit
