DGCR ACES 2011

I've only aced once, but I've hit chains probably a dozen times, quite a few of those alone. Every time I've been alone, somebody on the course has yelled, "Did that go in?!?!" or "Holy crap man, that was close!" , so I know there's always somebody watching/listening. Our courses here almost ALWAYS have other players on them, because we have so few.

Is this an ace?

I threw a star boss sidearm a few days ago on a hole 322 feet and managed to find its way into the basket making it past a few tree's along the way. I didn't know it went in until I approached the basket. Looks like it didn't hit any chains. My question is, is this an ace even though it didn't hit any chains? There's been a lot of chatter on here as to what counts as an ace and what does not so I just wanted to make sure.

Is this a trick question,or are you just dumb?

If the entire disc is inside the basket,it is good.

EDIT: Why a boss on a 322 foot hole?

-sidearm throwers typically struggle more with oat, therefore gear towards more stable/overstable and higher speed discs

4th is this an ace thread this week and this is the weakest one.
Is it an ace if it goes in the basket? WHAT!

this response in particular will require a lot more time on the forums/a little more explanation.

short answer, yes.

Cue Vondrehle and the disc tree :)...nevermind I am too impatient

Since people keep posting it is an ace I will post this so the OP knows the correct call.

These changes for holing out mean calls for the "putting tree" photo shown below that was in the Rules School story on Interference need to be updated. Under the old rules, only the yellow disc would not have been considered holed out when the player removed it. Under 2011 rules, the white and red discs are holed out (IN). The yellow disc as before and the orange disc hanging on the nub outside the basket are NOT IN. The orange disc balancing on the rim, which used to be considered IN, is now considered OUT in the 2011 rules because the disc is not entirely supported by the pole, inner wall or bottom of the basket. The orange wedgie is now NOT IN if the group observed it wedge from the outside. If the group did not see it or watched it clear the top basket wire then wedge on the way out, it is IN.

Thanks prerube, you sound very knowledgeable about the game. Are you a professional player?

no way, I stink. I just regurgitate other peoples knowledge. You will learn that my main value to this site is knowing where everything is in the forums and linking people to it.
