Review by Fat Dragon in course Dogwood Hills DGC

4.00 star(s) Worth the drive - Good course map right on the score card is a lifesaver, as it would be easy to get lost without it. - On a ball golf course so it's well-maintained. - Reasonable greens and cart fees. - Some decent elevation changes rarely encountered in Texas courses. - No throwaway holes -...

Review by Fat Dragon in course Squirrel Creek DGC

4.50 star(s) Great wooded course - Very well-kept wooded course - scrub and brush are kept to a minimum so you rarely have to spend much time searching for discs after the inevitable tree kicks. - Tons of pin positions that were all accurately marked at each teepad. - Well-marked course with clear and...

[Question] What is your longest/ farthest flying disc as of March 2015?

I stand corrected. Seems since being lost, found, and returned over the course of about three months, my Destroyer got beat in a bit more and now it's too understable for bombs - too low and it rolls, too high and it stalls. The new top dog in my bag is my 174g Yikun Dragon Jun. Flies like a...

[Question] What do you guys think is the best discs for hyzerflipping?

River is by far my top flipping disc, though I'm learning to flip my Axis as well. Honorable mention to my wife's Diamond Light, because it's hilarious to toss it at 75 degrees and watch it turn 165 degrees and roll.

[Question] What is your longest/ farthest flying disc as of March 2015?

148g Blizz Destroyer. Only disc in my bag I can pull out to 400 on occasion.

The Chinese for "in the bag" translates to "all the discs I own"

Okay, that's not actually true... Almost nobody plays disc golf in China, basically just a handful of expats who have bought or built their own portable baskets or hang a t-shirt from a tree for a target like me, so any discs that aren't made by Yikun are very difficult to get unless you want...

[Mids] What mids do you bag?

Saw a video of you (I think it was you) tossing MVP mids on their site and it inspired me to try out the Proton Axis my little brother (and your fellow MVP sponsored pro) Graham gave me a couple years ago. I confess you throw it better than I do, but man, that's a great disc.

I love your Pinwheel target and want to put together a clone, but I'm totally lost on that...

I love your Pinwheel target and want to put together a clone, but I'm totally lost on that 12-directional baseplate you use at the base of the basket. Tried sending a PM, but your box is full. Any chance you could share a part number or name for that part, or maybe what it was designed for so I...

    Missed ace commiseration thread

I want to say this happened in a tournament, but given the rules of tournament play, it seems unlikely. Either way, I was at Riverview DGC in Bullhead City, Arizona throwing on hole 8, a blind hyzer around an embankment built up on a hillside to a basket on the other side. I threw a nice enough...

    What does Disc Golf need?

Makes me wish I had my old 8-14 hours a week college teaching job. Scouting locations and figuring out who to butter up to get permission for a course is hard to fit in when I'm at work 50-60 hours a week and need to keep my wife happy in the off-hours. I want to make it happen and we almost...

    What does Disc Golf need?

Disc golf needs a presence in China so I can go out and play some real courses during the other 46 weeks of the year.

Lost Disc Mega Thread: Post your lost disc questions and stories here.

Wanted to edit this in, but got caught on the five minute edit limit: On a brighter note, I thought I lost another disc on a shanked throw. We play in a park/tree farm on a hilltop over the "Yellow Dragon Mountain" traffic tunnel, and I tossed my cheap new Yikun View driver in the direction of...

Lost Disc Mega Thread: Post your lost disc questions and stories here.

Played with a buddy a few weeks ago - he has no discs so he was throwing a couple of mine. We have to safari every round because there are no courses in China, and I called an ill-advised hole on which we both shanked our drives and lost my two favorite drivers. After digging around for a while...

    New member in China

Nope, but I'd love to get in contact with Herb's son. I've chatted with their reps on Taobao, not sure who in the company was on the other line, but they gave the kind of cautiously-supportive answer I get from a lot of people here: not offering to help or giving advice, but "good luck and...
