Was it a case where Axldog Acres suits your game? How did it compare to the round at Wakanda?
I started in Intermediate 5 years ago and wish I had played Recreational first. See where your rating goes after the next update. The Wisconsin Tour is nice in that it's long enough to start out...
I find putting practice the most important, so I always make time for that. Early on in the round, solid putting can bail you out of a poor drive and/or upshot.
I tend to take practice holes on a case-by-case basis. If it's a deuce-or-die course, I definitely want to play a string of short...
I've used my rating as a guide. Over time, mine has gone through wild fluctuations, but when it finally went over 900, I started going up 5-7 points per update. That's when I could tell. I'm up to 925, so Advanced is calling anyway, but that's after consistently being in the top 20% in...
Okay. Two of us will be getting down there around 9pm, and the other two shortly thereafter. We'll just check in with you whenever we get to town. Thanks again!
A group of us from Wisconsin will be down for the tournament and we're really looking forward to it. If we can't get to the putting competition on Thursday, do we just check in at our Friday morning course? If so, by what time? Thanks!
I think I average 4-5 basket hits (be it chains, bucket, or pole) between aces. I can see it being different depending on one's ability and the types of courses played. I have several short, technical courses around me with plentiful ace runs, so I have plenty of opportunity. If I played...
If I'm on 3rd shift at the plant and there aren't any narcs with me, I'll set up my collapsible basket inside and practice putting. Every little bit helps.
The feel of the putter means a lot to me, so if it's got major gouges to the point where I don't have a smooth surface to grip, it goes in the practice putter bin. I rarely throw putters off the tee, so that helps stretch out the lifespan. A cool stamp might get a new one into the bag sooner...
I shot 67 (HN), 52 (Kil), 55 (RL), 55 (Wing), 65 (AB), 58 (RL) over the week. Hornet was inexcusable, but I played Winget and Angry Beaver blind. Shot 2 rounds rated in the 800s, but also shot my first 1000-rated tournament round and the other 3 were well above my 917. I putted pretty well...
I spoke with someone from the Charlotte Motor Speedway the other day and was told they have plenty of room for campers. Not sure about rates, but I think it varies as they have 462 or so sites.
People playing short tees to short pins at the tournament shot in the 40s, so it's not like the course doesn't provide birdie opportunities, depending on how challenging you'd like it to play. I played opening weekend and it made me want to come back.
I'm fortunate to be about 25 minutes from Rollin' Ridge and have a 5-year pass for hitting the first ace in course history. Last I heard, the plan was to paint the hole details on the square at the end of every teepad, but that may have changed.
