    Other info

I love disc golf. I've never really cared for any other sport, as far as participation and obsession are concerned. I began as the unfortunate "chucker," spending my rounds partying with buddies with our one or two discs each, showing very little course courtesy...but I evolved into a dedicated (albeit inconsistent, skills-wise) golfer focused on spreading the sport wherever the opportunity arises. My biggest DG achievement to date is proposing, co-designing, and installing an 18-hole course on the LTC campus in Cleveland, WI...Currently rated 3.46, ranked #39 in Wisconsin (out of 152 nine-hole-or-more courses with at least 3 reviews in the state). The small community here has been receptive to disc golf, in fact asking the co-designer of LTC and myself to put in a 9-hole course at the elementary school (DGCR course ID #3482), and I also host an annual Ace Race at LTC (2012 will be our 5th year!) which many local businesses have been supportive of. I hope to work on more course designs in the future, as I think my game has more or less plateaued while my passion has only grown stronger. Teaching my children -- or any beginners -- the game is a rewarding experience, as course courtesy begins with your instructor, and as our sport grows in popularity we will need educated players to keep the momentum moving forward.

My reviews focus heavily on variety. I don't like to play *essentially* the same shot over and over, and I love unique greens and those tee shots that make you say "wow" and throw multiple shots. I don't like excessive risk, but of course I love to see it used properly and will take that shot only when my confidence level allows.

i live a "medicinal" life. for instance, today i drove 275 through a tight line of trees with a chest full of "medicinal" ;)
Yeah, I definitely plan on working my way up into Wisconsin this summer, no definite plans yet but when I'm headed that way I'll definitely hit you up. Let me know if you make it down to the Chicago area, it would be cool to show you around some of the courses down here.
Nice work pointing out the DG hole in that Demetri Martin sketch. That was cool to see, especially since i've played there. It's Chavez Ridge in L.A.

    Hey Jason,
Was hoping to find out if you still had openings for the Ace Race on the 27th. Myself and two friends are gonna make the drive from Milwaukee to participate. Let me know via PM and I'll put the loot into your paypal account tomorrow!
    Thanks,
    Terry
I think our remote location is helping in terms of ratings too. Only people who WANT to play it and who have read about the challenge are coming out to play, and thus reviewing favorably. If we were stuck in the middle of a city park, we'd have all the typical pansy casual golfers who actually don't like to be challenged.
I know, I've been running the numbers. It feels neat, and is pretty exciting. You see, I suffer from designer syndrome - I know exactly, every little thing that went into the course and why. So I see it differently, I also see all the flaws, or things yet to be fixed, or a change for the better. It's like a curse, keeping me from just enjoying a round out there. Because of it I tried purposely to not do too much work out there this season and just let it be. It sure is nice to see "my baby" in the top 5 though!
Thanks for the welcome! Sweet course you have out that way! H.A Meyer is getting nicer. It's only a few blocks from my place so I'm there offen. #2 is my fav there thats a sweet hole. see ya on the course.
I need theycallmejg to change his rating too. He staes he loved the course and is one of a few who have favorited it. A 4.5 from him would sure help. Thanks for the compliment though, we sure are GIDDY that so many people love our course!
(I was checking - Blueberry Hill is a 4.92, but only 6 reviews)
A couple buddies and I were planning on driving up for the event, I pulled something in my side yesterday throwing too many holes at Brown Deer. If it feels better by next week, we'll register online and then look forward to meeting you on the 27th, it sounds like a blast!
Wsup Gonzo. Too bad we've never met. Perhaps I'll make the cleveland ace race. I see a highbridge picture here. I'll be there this weekend (hopefully) I'd rather go there than play northwoods open, nothing against sandy point ofcourse.
