2013 Goals

Get competitive.

1. Figure out my newly stocked bag :D
2. Sign up for weekly league.
3. Play at least two local tournaments.
4. Learn the rules, play technical & play competitive.

-play 10+ PDGA tournaments (I think there are 13 or so in AR, and there is one in TX that I plan to play in)
-quickly get consistent
-with that consistency, win at least one tournament in ADV.
-qualify for 2014 NPC Championships in ADV.
-shoot 1000 rated round (992 was my highest last year)

My game lives and dies with my consistency. I have all the shots, long arm, and a good putter, but it seems like every tournament I play in, something is off for at least one round. I'm trying to change that now, so that in February at my first tournament, I can start my first year as a PDGA member right.

My goal is to not get hurt.:(......again.

That was my goal for last year. I did hurt my hip but it was not disc golf related. I hurt my elbow in 2010 and did not play at all in 2011. 2012 though I had a whole season but struggled with my release. With my elbow is doing better now. I hopefully will have more confidence in it and be able to work more on form than worry that I am going to hurt it again in 2013.

Play in sanctioned rounds and establish a rating.
Win a local Intermediate tourney.
Continue to feed my plastic addiction.
Maybe buy a portable basket for the backyard.
Drive 350'-400' consistently with accuracy.
2nd ace, one over 250'.

1 play in first tournament
2 get more distance and consistency on drives
3 have fun
4 throw under par on home course (been playing for a week and have thrown already a +2 round)

Besides number 2 all of these should be accomplished by February.

- Drive 400' with my drivers; 300'+ with my mids; and 250-275'+ with my putter.
- Play more leagues and tournaments (sanctioned or not) to gain experience
- Win Int. in aforementioned leagues/tournaments - move to Adv
- Get invited to 2014 Am Worlds in Mpls, MN
- Stay healthy
- Have fun!

-Travel more and play new courses. ***trip planned for Trophy Lakes and have approval to play Flyboy
-I really need to learn how to have fun during tournament play. Got so stressed in one tourney that it costed me 8 strokes. Still cashed though.
-Need to learn to throw sidearm without throwing my shoulder out
-Have to back off from trying to make a monster drive when i need to be more focused on accuracy
-Would really like to arrange a DGCR tag swap. Going into my 3rd year as a member and haven't swapped yet
-Midrange and putting are on but there is always room for improvement

Win a black disc.
Continue to have fun while playing.
Avoid nasty hangover rounds.

i'll go with a little bit of variety in my goals for 2013...

1. cut 25 pounds and get in better shape (i'm 5 11 and sitting at 210 now)
2. add a run up back to my drives (footwork feels super off right now, i'm hitting 370 or maybe a little longer with no run up). i think losing some weight will help get that extra spring in the step and the timing will come back.
3. td my first pdga sanctioned event (i'm looking to get my fundraiser sanctioned this year)
4. raise $2,000 at my fundraiser for the national ms society (raised $1,500 last year and $1,100 the year before)

i know at some point in the late spring or early summer i'll be going through a job change, so i don't know how much time i'll have to play the second half of the year. that's why a lot of the goals aren't things like spend x hours practicing in the field or y hours putting.

Play a few more good courses.
Continue having fun.
Keep doing my part to help my local courses.
Introduce more people to the sport.

1. Have fun
2. Focus on one shot at a time during rounds
3. Increase my comfortable distance for putting
4. Increase consistency (Decrease horrible shots that cost strokes and avoid distaster)
5. Find out what I can do for supporting Disc golf to grow and flourish

- Play in at least one tournament.
- Improve my sidearm throws
- More rounds under par
- Improve my putting from 18-20 ft.
- More DG road trips.
