So my little brother (11 years old now) was born with a hypoplastic left heart. So basically, he had a hole in his heart and had to have a series of three surguries.

Due to his heart defect he can't play contact sports such as football. He really hates basketball, and baseball is just okay to him.

But within the last year I have introduced him to disc golf.

He really loves it and gets into it a lot.

Disc Golf- Fun for all!

he's not horrible considering his physical hinderance. He's really small for his age. He can throw maybe 120'. He has pretty good at midranges and pretty good at putting. But he keeps up with us

thats really cool, its good that he's found something to keep active, and have fun

does he throw lighter weighted disc's? might help with more 'D'

This is encouraging. My daughter has cardiomyopathy, which limits her physically. I hope that dg is a sport she can enjoy when she gets older.

Thanks for sharing. It warms my heart to hear that (especially with my 3 kids - youngest's 7 year birthday party starts right now!)

It gives me a whole different perspective on why Spasland is a great course (and I'm sure he plays others and enjoys harder courses too). I rated that course quite low because it rates low in my book, but being able to make DG available to your brother and kids like him makes it a 5.0 disc course in the "book" that really counts.

Yeah, for sure. That's where we go together most of the time. And sure it's easy and short, but like I said in my review. It suits the area (neighborhood) it's in well.

He loves other courses too like Dretzka and Sussex.

And he always tells us "Brown Deer is my favorite" :p

simpletwist and carpy played in the empire state seniors games yesterday, i escorted 70-80 year old ladies around for 9 holes...they had a blast!
