Nothing wrong with being nerdy or a partier. I beleive it is the nature and style of the sport that attracts certain types of players.

I don't think it would ever have the "professional" feel of standard golf until courses charge $100+ a game and tournaments cost thousands to enter. It will never have the coolness factor of full contact sports or sports where people are injured on a regular basis. Neither will it have the fan comradery and pride that team sports will have. And lastly, it won't often have the sexy babes that you find in professional volleyball and surfing (man I love pro women's surfing).

Its just a really fun sport that is mostly free (and when not free, very inexpensive). This just so happens to be a combination that attracts a lot of partiers and hippies. I personally don't see anything wrong with this. I'm just glad it doesn't have the cheesy factor of professional bowling.

My experiences with the disc golf community have shown this to be true and I would have to say that the reputation in most people's eyes is that DG = party time and there is nothing wrong with that.
