Driving with putters and midranges

To the OP, here's my two cents.

I read the same excellent advice on driving with mids and putters, and after doing it for 6 months or so I love it. So satisfying to watch a putter go dead straight for 250'!!

As for fan vs. power grip I was in the same boat as you. Initially I tried to use a power grip for driving mids and putters, but it never felt comfortable. I felt like I had no control. Now I only fan grip putters, and depending on the distance/control needed fan or power grip mids. So I'd say do what feels right to you!

Same grip as drivers. Hence the name a "driving putter." And yes this could improve your game.

I don't agree on changing your grip with mids and putters. You are basically releasing the exact same way as you would a driver. Adding another grip (variable) usually doesn't increase one's consistency.
