Seriously though, I could see where this would come in handy to hook onto the lip of a disc. Just bush the button to retract it and, unless its really wedged in there, you should be able to move it enough to fall.
These work really well when the disc is protected by lower branches. If you can rest part of the tape measure on lower limbs you can get stuff 25 feet high. I've also used it for discs on the other side of fences with barbed wire. It isn't great for water retrieval though.
If you do get one try to avoid the new model. The hook at the end is much bigger and the tape doesn't stand out as far. My first one stopped retracting. I sent it back and they shipped out the new model.
