Hmmmm, now I have to go and find a pack of Black Cherry Kool-Aid at the store and try it out....see if I've forgotten the taste of it after all these years.

I remember taking Dixie Cups, pouring Kool-Aid into them, adding a popsicle stick, sticking them in the freezer and making popsicles.

Does anyone on this forum do their homework or have a mind of their own anymore?

Oh no, that's right. Ya'll drink the kool-aid and turn into ru4por minions.
Some of us were discussing the posts - chevis DID do the homework, and we were talking about it. Some of us took it more or less seriously, but we've read what you copy-pasted already at the link chevis posted...

Personally - I don't know which side I'd believe, it has influenced how I might approach Scott if somehow I became closer to him. And I read about the problems with the autism organization he donates to and I'll consider that as well.... but I simply don't know enough for it to put me in a place of outrage where I'm gonna post diatribes about it here. If something more material came to light, maybe I'd have done more than comment briefly on it.

If you want it discussed more, keep talking about it - enough bored blowhards here (myself included) that it'll inspire an audience (****, one dumbass got us to waste thousands of posts discussing smaller disc golf baskets for a while). But don't be a dip**** and pretend people haven't "done their homework" when chevis clearly already did and we clearly already were discussing it from at least the level of informed that searching through this site (and r/discgolf) would get us to.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. Until we see some, meh. Just sounds like the typical post-breakup social media slander.

All you fancy pants with your Kool-Aid and popsicles.

I grew up on Flavor-Aid

"What's wrong with water?!!! It comes out of the tap and it's free boy!".

-my dad

Unless it's late August and our well had run dry, or a deer fell in it and died. Then its

" don't waste the water, we won't have more until late September, walk down to your grandparents and bring back a 4L"... "thanks"

I mean it probably ranks 3rd or 4th in the "shocking rumor about Scott Stokely I read online" sweepstakes.

Actually my "shocking rumor about Scott Stokely" history predates regular Internet use. The first bad rumor I heard I remember thinking "this just seems like Innova guys bashing a guy who said bad things about Innova". Stokely was pretty open about the fact that he took a Discraft sponsorship because he thought quality at Innova was spotty at best. To me at least, he seemed like he was kinda a target for rumors, and the rumors came from Innova guys. .

Then by the time the Internet got going, he was hurt and not around disc golf. "What is Scott Stokely doing now?" lead to a lot of...interesting speculation? At the end of the day, they were all still rumors.

Despite everything I've read or been told about him, I don't know him. I met him I think twice? He was neither the nicest pro disc golfer I met in the 90's or the biggest jerk pro disc golfer I met in the 90's. He was just a guy. A guy who was a freak of nature with a golf disc in his hands; damn he threw far! That's all I know for sure about him; in the late 90's he was a walking, taking disc golf highlight reel.

I think the first I heard of Stokely (I started playing in 2005) was a rumor along the lines of "He's this dude who held the distance record who hurt his arm, and now he lives next to a disc golf course at a home where he runs a porn filming business."

About where I am on it. I met him when he held a clinic for local special olympics folk in our community. He did a great job with them, seemed to truly enjoy what he was doing. And then I got to play on his card at a tournament some months later (I think it was when he couldn't leave Ohio because of some legal **** related to a traffic stop and drugs I always heard he didn't have). He was yeah, exactly that: just some guy who was a freak of nature with a golf disc.

Also always heard stories about him as a player from Marty Peters, who grew up with him as a kid and was the top pro player in my region when I first started playing.

That settles it. I should despise him and start copy/pasting stuff about him on sites across the internet.

Ignore the fact that I don't know him and never even met him.

I don't know him either, Scott reminds me of my buddy Ryan down to the blue hair and attitude. Great guy doesn't suffer fools well... little in your face but a whole lot of get it done. Rebels don't take no crap.

Or Johnny Mac(donald) RIP, in your face dude, heck he had disc golf tattooed on his knuckles too, threw the heck out of a Roc, partied like a rockstar on and off the course and was still the guy you had to beat. Little rough the first couple go rounds til you got to know him. More of a "feliz anus" . Great dude, tons of fun.

I was always rooting for Scott back in the day, I was always kind of "anti innova" so... that. Haha. I googled Scott stokes rumors and found nothing, he must be clean. :D

Going back to the OP, since he returned to the tour, he's finishing about where one would expect someone with his rating to finish?

Very respectable all things considered.
