Maybe experts from each sub-forum? Someone who is an active poster and we can organize who speaks each week and their topics. Some areas can take over two days of the week if one of the other sub-forums is lacking material.

Monday - General Disc Golf Discussion
Tuesday - Improve your game
Wednesday - Equipment
Thursday - DGCR Commerce
Friday - Other "The Water Cooler"

I was thinking that a weekly would be better since I dont think there is enough content on here to have a daily podcast (unless they are super short episodes) but I could see a format where there are two main hosts and then they have random other posters or other main people in disc golf come on as the guests.

I travel a lot for work and consume a ton of podcast. I can say without a doubt that there is a need for a DGCR podcast, especially if it is focused on technique and strategy. There are some good pods out there- Nate Sextons is probably the best, with Earhart a close 2nd, but they are both basically the same - interviews with some disc golf personality. Tell your disc golf story, talk about some current events, etc. Fun to pass the time but I haven't improved my game much by listening.

Technique and strat wise, it's basically the DD crew, which has some decent technique content sprinkled into basically a dynamic disc sales pitch. The other one is chainclankers, which has improved lately but a lot of the time it feels like the blind leading the blind.

TL, DR - a podcast that is heavy on solid form and technique advice is definitely needed in the current dg podcast landscape

We get Sidewinder to do some deep dives on form. That would be sweet.

ThreePutt needs to be on a podcast!

Moose would probably make a good, more traditional, host. He does well on the YouTubes.

I can think of a few others. We have quite a cast of characters on here that could be entertaining and informational.

Hand one of the elder statesman a mic and let them wax poetic for a set period of time. Yes please!

A 30-minute 'this week in disc golf' podcast is the token for success. Recap and/or preview big tourneys. 5-7 minute interview with a pro. 5-7 interview/discussion about another big disc golf topic (TD for an upcoming major, course director of a big name course, preview the grand opening of a big course, preview the release of a new disc, interview with a legend, etc). Have a fun short segment such as a rules question. Keep it short. Keep it fast paced. Keep it entertaining. Make the audience coming back for more rather than over-saturating them with too many podcasts.

That would be really hard with no visual reference I would think. I know when I read that stuff it makes no sense until there is a picture or video posted as an example.

cant tell if my preference is truly for a visual aid or if it is actually for sidewinder22

I'm probably wrong. I mean I'm usually wrong in general so I'm probably wrong about this too, but...

It seems like the podcasts are very heavy on the "Pro" side of stuff. DGCR is really an rec-kinda disc golf site. I mean a lot of people like the pro stuff so it's not like you wouldn't mention it at all, but DGCR as a podcast I think would be heavy on "experience" stuff like road trips, cool courses visited, more the vibe of just how cool it is that we go places and throw plastic.

I suppose that could be done in short, fast paced, entertaining ways so I'm not sure why I quoted you. Again, I'm wrong a lot.

Yea, I agree with you. I think theres enough of the fast paced stuff out there. Focusing on cool courses and experiences and talking about the hot subjects is where I would see it going. Not a joke, but having the Old Man on a podcast to have an actual intelligent conversation about basket size would be fun. I would like to see pros on just to ask them tough questions.

I have never seen oldmanballcon have an intelligent, cohesive thought....let alone a conversation.

Be interesting. I think it would quickly become apparent it's a lot harder than it looks.

I agree with your assessment that DGCR is for the amateurs/casual players. As you stated in another post, most aspects of what makes DGCR are done best in a visual platform. I can't imagine, as you stated, form & technique being discussed in audio format. Nor can I see discussions/reviews of courses (hence DGCR) being successful in audio form either.

Host 1: course X features a 375 foot dogleg right layout in #1.
Host 2: ooooh, that's a tough opener. You'll need to land on the left side of the fairway to see the basket.

Maybe the podcast will be most successful if they just read a list of lost discs. That seemingly is the driving force behind many local clubs FB pages.
