I tried my first shaving cream dye today.

I put down a base of orange cream and used squeeze bottles to make a pattern....

Let it sit for about 4 hours....

and this is what I ended up with...

I was inspired by the Walter dye StevieWraithVaughan did so I hope my copy is as nice...

I wanted to do the same thing with Lebowski....

I then used the squeeze bottles to create the rug pattern in the shades...

I then made the outside edge pattern (Trying for some type of flames)

With the foam still on the shades I set the disc....

This is what I ended up with. I put a little brown on the hair to finish it.

When you do a multi-color with a background do you re-mask the logo area? Every time I have tried that the mask pulls so much color off it looks like crap.

Also what are you using to get that angular effect?

With all the shaving cream techniques, I never thought the Saran Wrap/garbage bag technique would return. I'm relevant again!

I do re-mask the logo. It pulls some, but not much. And there's no heat for the background technique so it's much less than if there were.

I wanted to do the plastic bag/ saran wrap trick on my heisenberg disc to try and make it look like a pile of meth, but didn't want to ruin the disc - I've never tried that before, any tips from the pros?

also, that dude disc is sick. Great work on that.

It's been a long time, but with dye less is more. Also, experiment on another disc first to make sure you're comfortable dyeing a disc you like.
